I agree with all the coments so far about the new bikes. FLHX in purple is real nice. Dyna frame changes included a different way to mount mufflers (cleaner). That flat black bike is very interresting has a battery box that looks like the old oil tanks. Inside they said battery is sideways. This new clutch assist really works, has quite a mechanical advantage and is retrofittable. The stipped down heritage is cool . But to me the show stopper was the cvo vrod
tech just came back from road test with it and was really smiling. Was doing a buck and half in short order according to his report. Allthough he did not quite phrase it that way. The rear tire is huge and the machine just glistens everyplace. I think it would  be a real travesty to put even one bungie cord any where near that bike. I guess you don't need to carry any gear if you get from place A to place B at lightspeed. I firmed up a deal on a watermelon  which will arrive in a couple of weeks.

For instance did they throw in the "new" security system II or are they using the old ones up? Guess i'll know in a few weeks.Thanks.

Which security system was one of the questions I'd tried to find and, from any published docs I've seen so far, haven't been able to.

Twolane, seems like the marketing hype I read is pushing the statement that HD is first bike to come from factory with satellite radio installed (don't know if that's true). I like using the cell phone on the road. I voice dial to 411 get them to connect me to my destination and don't have to stop when I am lost to ask for directions. The bluetooth stuff is new to me and I am looking forward to ample aggrevation trying to get the phone to "talk" to the radio. AT least one blurb I read someplace indicated that HD would have a navingation system for this thing in the future. I don't remeber where I read that or if any validity.

That's interesting Jerry.  Thanks for the cite.  It's the only reference I've seen to GPS that wasn't (or at least likely wasn't) the fairing mounted GPS unit that was released a couple of months ago.  Of course the reference to IPod compatibility and other devices is probably just the aux-in jack but the other info is certainly interesting.  The line from the article is pretty cryptic:

"Support for a GPS navigation system will be available in September of 2005."

But hey, September isn't here yet so maybe there are more bells and whisltles yet to come for the "Advanced Audio System."   Just realized, however, that saying that more bells and whistles are yet to come is only another way of saying it's more things left off the SE Ultra  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] .

Twolaane,

You perception is good about the phone book I read someplace that is supposed to part of the package. Now if they could only come up with a chrome coffee pot attachment for the tour-pack some place....

Was just thinking of the various switchable controls and mixes of control functions some of the radio functions could entail.
