Terry and Diva..

Great shots and it looks like you had a great time.  I'm with the rest in stating the fact that you can plan all of my trips!!  I need one for the Natchez Trace in August with a bunch of work buddies!!

Glad you had a great time and arrived home safe and sound.

Terry & Suzanne,
Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures from your vacation.  They give us something to look forward to for our Labor Day weekend trip.  Can't wait.  I know you had a great time.  As usual, your scooter looks awesome.  I don't know how you ride so much and keep that thing so clean along the way.  :2vrolijk_21:

It was a really neat place, John....nothing fancy, and no phones or TV, but that suits me fine in that environment.  Inexpensive too...think the room was about 90 bucks.  I had made reservations a couple of months back to be certain to have a room.  They have a nice restaurant and we were lucky enough to have the window seats both times we ate in there.  Very peaceful and relaxing place...

Are you guys going North to South or South to North?  Natchez (the town) is a neat place with lots of history.  A couple of fun pubs down on the waterfront too.  I'd start there if I were doing the trip, then ride North, and maybe, if time allows, do the Land Between the Lakes area in Kentucky.

That definitely tightened the sphincter muscles up. :nervous: I was waiting for "Momma Bear" to come running down the hill after her cub. :shocked2:

He/she was a youngster, but might have been old enough that Mamma had kicked him out of the nest.  I was definitely looking for the 300 lb version to be around though.  You can bet your a$$ I wasn't going to stop!!

Back before I got too old and fat to hike much, I had a yearling black bear follow me for about 3 miles up in the Smokies...he was hoping we'd put our packs down so he could steal them and get the food.  They are clever animals, and unfortunately have come to associate humans with the food we always have...99% of the problems in human/bear contact are caused by the humans being stupid enough to not take care of their food.  The good thing is that the Rangers are cracking down hard on folks that intentionally feed bears and turn them into nusances.  Most of them are perfectly content to eat bear food and leave us alone, if we act responsibly in THEIR home.  Black bears are basically scavengers, eating dead animals, and occasionaly taking down a very small mammal, but mostly they are vegatarians.  I admire them, but always from a distance... :2vrolijk_21:

You got that chit right... More like imitate Howie's ride on SLD. ;) WFO!!!! That is only the second bear I've seen in my lifetime that wasn't in a zoo. The other one ran across the road in front of me while on duty at FD on the way to a call. Skeered the B-Jesus out of me. :shocked2: He/She shot from out of the woods and darted across the road. I didn't have time to stop, or steer out the way. It dissappeared under the bumper, but made it across the road before the tires got him.

Hey D00d, that's similar to my only close call w/ a bear.  A rather large black bear scrambled up out of a field ditch to cross the road right in front of me followed by two much smaller cubs.  They didn't even appear to notice that I locked up my tires on the pickup as they just paraded across and into the woods on the other side of the road.  Scared me too.  Just glad I wasn't on a scooter, 'cause I'd surely slid right into them and then the mama would have mauled what was left of me......aaargh.  Not a great thought.  But, if you love back roads as I do, you're gonna have these up close and personal encounters w/ the 'wild life' (and animals too!)  :D har!  :drink: spyder

We are actually starting in Nashville on a Thursday, and returning on Sunday late morning!!  We have 3 and 1/4 days to go down and back. I'll be waiting for my Trip Tik (aka TC Tik)!

Terry and Suzanne,
great pics!  Susan and I will definitely head that direction when time permits.  I will show her the pics tonight.

Glad you had a safe trip! BTW Terry my Road Ready bag is due in this week.  Yours looked like the perfect fit on the SEUC.  My SEUC gets "fixed" next week!!
Best,
Warren
