Re-tread,

I had one in my 03 95" build, c/w HD SE heads ported by SBC, V&H Pro Pipe, S&S Roller Rockers, Dynod at 98.6 HP and 104 lb ft Torque.

For my 04 CVO 103", heads ported, combustion chambers welded up and machined by SBC, however going with Andrew TW55G cams.

Will know how she runs when all reassembled, expecting 110hp and 115TQ.

kng103,
Was told there was no need to replace the springs, however the the push rod needed to change to keep the noise down, was told the perfecto fit by HD will do the job.
Did you port & polish the heads?

king103,
According to HD  they tell me the spring need not be changed for the 251. they recommend cleaning up the heads, and change to adjustables rods. I would imagine alot more pull in the 2500 to 3000 range. What benefit are  you expecting?

There are valve seal clearance issues with the stock heads and the lift on that cam.

It is done, Pick it up and put 500 miles on it already with the new cam.
Excellent result, very little noise from the rods.  I don't think the springs are an issue, but time will tell.
Won't know alot till it get dynoed, just feel better [smiley=laugh.gif]

I am watching this thread with great interest as I am about to pull the trigger on a cam change. I don't want to pull the heads at this point and am going to stay with an SE cam so my dealer will honor the warranty. With this in mind I am leaning towards the 211's, although the 251's would be my first choice if clearance was not an issue.
My guess is that all the mystery surrounding the CVO 103 will go away as people continue to experiment with performance mods and share info. I am attaching specs on the CVO 253 cams that I lifted from the Harley Tech Talk web site. I cannot vouch for the accuracy but it seems to run in line with the numbers that have been tossed around [smiley=laugh.gif].

Kng103,
Just noticed that yours is not a factory CVO engine, wonder if your cam and springs might have been different, because of the EPA regulations for the factory built. My understanding is that the stroker engine prepared for replacements is a better more  torque "y" engine then the CVO's.  Anyhow, lots of luck with your modifications, and let us know how it turns out.
I call feel the difference, and will probably get dynoed in the next two weeks.

the moco tells me it is the exact same motor as the 03 serk & 04seeg.
the only difference is i don't have the hydraullic clutch.
did you see the new dyno sheet posted yesterday with the 251 cam?
pretty good #'s. torque comes in right where you want it.
i am hoping for a little better though.
