Thanks Mr Mike

Wasn't sure if you understood the question.
And it turns out I didn't understand your answer.

Thanks

Four questions
Yes it will provide the RPM drop that you indicated
Andrews is where to get it at
yes it will fit
The 103 will pull (plenty enough torque) with it just fine.

Doesn't it make sense if I'm planning to put LOTS of highway miles on the SEEG to be able to drop the RPM down?

I came back from Biketoberfest on the 03 dresser on I-95 on cruise at 85mph. The bike was turning big RPM's and as everyone knows. Big RPM's means small gas mileage #s. It's hard to go 150 miles on a tank when your running 85.

Turning 3000 at 80 seems reasonable. Well to me it does.
That is if the 103 will pull it at the lower end.

Chip try this link to Andrews, you will find what you are looking for on page 23 of their downloadable catalog.

HD,

Here is a speed and rpm calculator off the Baker website that I have found helpful in choosing gearing options for my bikes.
http://www.bakerdrivetrain.com/home.html

I originally thought that the 3.15 final drive ratio that came stock on our bikes was too high but after putting some miles on the bike I feel that with the five speed it is just about right. If I were to do a gear change it would be to a 24 tooth compensating sprocket, 37 tooth clutch shell (3.37 final drive ratio) and a 6 speed. Then you would have the best of both worlds without much compromise. I bet the 103 would pull a 26 tooth but to me the increase in gas mileage would not justify the loss of low end torque.
