Hole in the water
« on: July 22, 2007, 07:21:45 PM »

Here's a few pics of the latest toy.
Nancy almost shot me when I brought this home a month ago.
I had been looking for a pontoon boat. (this is close isn't it)
It was in rough shape but the basics were there.
The boat didn't even have a motor but was set up for a small block Chevy.
I installed a 400 small block 30 over with double hump heads.
A lot of work but it keeps me from getting bored.
Fired it up this past Tuesday at 10:30 PM. (neighbors weren't thrilled but they are use to loud sounds from my garage)
Twin 600 4's on the tunnel ram with a powerglide transmission.
Another week or so of sorting out the bugs then off to the water.
And yes, if I keep it, this time next year it will be silver and black.

 ;)

Totally off the topic of your new boat (would love to hear that motor) but one of my favorite "boat moments" was on a lake around here a couple years ago.  Pulled in to this well populated cove and saw a pontoon boat that had fiberglass "straws" growing out of each of its pontoons while the pontoons were painted up like beer cans.  Wasn't my idea; but I'd steal it in a heartbeat someday.

Hey, I went looking for a fishing boat a few years ago and found this Sweet 16, it'll never fish either.
