AJ

Don't let Nancy fool you!
A few miles with me driving the boat and she will be wanting to drive.
It has a gas pedal that her foot will fit!
She likes speed also!

Here's a few pics of the latest toy.
Nancy almost shot me when I brought this home a month ago.
I had been looking for a pontoon boat. (this is close isn't it)
It was in rough shape but the basics were there.
The boat didn't even have a motor but was set up for a small block Chevy.
I installed a 400 small block 30 over with double hump heads.
A lot of work but it keeps me from getting bored.
Fired it up this past Tuesday at 10:30 PM. (neighbors weren't thrilled but they are use to loud sounds from my garage)
Twin 600 4's on the tunnel ram with a powerglide transmission.
Another week or so of sorting out the bugs then off to the water.
And yes, if I keep it, this time next year it will be silver and black.

 ;)

Congrats Chip   :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Congrats Chip   :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks Dogols (I think)

The last boat I had was an 18' with a Berkley Jet drive and a 455 Oldsmobile engine.
Just remember that on a Saturday morning at 9:00 am I filled it up with 30 gallons of gas and before lunch it was empty.
That was 20 years ago.
Besides I don't drive or ride as fast as I once did!
I will be happy with the new one if it breaks a hundred.    (on smooth water of course)
If it will do that I will probably keep it.

Hey, I went looking for a fishing boat a few years ago and found this Sweet 16, it'll never fish either.

Rog I had a 95 Sweet 16. Was a great lake boat for sking or just hauling ass. Got to be no one wanted to ride in it cause I scared them.  :D At 60mph with white caps in a 16ft Donzi Classic I couldn't understand. Nice boat  :2vrolijk_21:

Nice boat, Chip  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:  After 80mph, you can't tell the difference anyway, so open her up!!  With that hull design, just make sure you're on flat water, or very, very light chop.  Oh yea, and be sure to remove your hat...turning it around backwards ain't gonna' do chit.

Poon....I mean, Pontoon boats are great fun too though, just in a real different way... ;) :) ::)

Not even a light chop.  Calm water at 7:00 am  ..    :)

Our JC Tritoon will run 40mph with a 225 Honda.  502's in a 3 log toon will push 60mph..  Twin 250 outboards run close to 80mph.
Pontoons aren't your old man's boat anymore.  The most popular inland lake boat sold right now.

This thread about boats makes me think, anyone close enough to Maine to run up there with a truck, my Mom wants to sell my Dad's boat. 1986 Celebrity 21ft Bowrider. Only has about 60 hrs on it. Has been in a barn for 7 years. Dad covered all the seals and gaskets with silicone and wax when he put it up. It sits on a galvanized big roller single wheel trailer (easier turning radius) Trailer has never spent any time outdoors. 350 Chevy I/O White with Red graphics. Mom says any offer north of $6k takes it. $30k boat new. This boat was Dad's baby and the man spent his whole life looking after industrial machinery so it was in perfect shape when he put it up. Send me a PM

A 3 log toon won't bank like a v bottom boat but you just have to get used to them.  A wide turning area helps.    :)

Telling someone that you have a pontoon is like telling them you have a minivan.  We have both.  Highly functional but no respect.   :)
