Well they started out the year with bad paint, guess that mean they can only get better. :confused5:  The new bike has bad orange peel and prints in the paint.  So far the are replacing the front fender, outer fairing, tank, tour pak lid, and both saaddle bag lowers.  Woner if it will take a year to get it right this time?

Time to deal directly with the MotorCompany, the entire bike should be shipped back to Harley. If you are going to settle for the repaint then someone needs to pony up some bucks for the inconvenience along with alternate transportation. My dealer offered me a rental for free when my cylinders were being replaced along with some accessory / motor clothes dollars put in my account.

No disrespect intended but I think you should pull that guys name and phone numbers down and send it by PM.  Too many crazies out there in internet land to subject a guy who actually may be able to help to unsuspecting harrasment by folks who are not regulars here but might find that info and abuse it.

Agreed.  Likewise, respectfully, the name and phone number info should be removed from that post.  Broadcasting it to the world betrays the confidence in which it was initially provided...............unless of course the owner of the information gave his consent to public release.

Joe,

Hate to tell you, but those two words are not in the MoCo dictionary, especially on the CVO product line.  There is absolutely no excuse for the paint defects; after the sad history they've had so far with CVO paint they should be checking these things with the proverbial fine tooth comb.  Sounds like they lost the comb.

I've got a deposit on an '08 too.  I'm gonna be watching the site to see what kind of experiences are reported on the new SE bikes.  There really isn't a thing wrong with my '06 bike.

I found out about this on a toyota forum,  a small # of trucks had this problem. anyone who this happened to , toyota put new motors in there trucks and gave them a platnum extended warrenty for there troubles. now that is customer service!!!

I did not know that you could even buy one yet.  My dealer told me that they weren't even supposed to show the '08s to people.  How did you get one so early???????

Sounds like your dealer has a lot of 07s still sitting around he doesn't want competition for.
