Hey Hoist for what it's worth, I was on the coumadin for a year after a heart procedure I had to get done and it wasn't bad at all. Sure there is a risk but I decided I'm going to continue living the way I live and then deal with what comes along. I ride about 20K miles a year and I too like to go fast. I also have a crotch rocket that I do trackdays on a few times a year, and I continued to do that too. I figure one just has to work with the hand one's dealt. During my coumadin days, I had to go in once a month to get a quick pin prick to determine what the "thinness" of my blood was then adjust the "size" of the pill I took. After a few visits, the dosage stabilized and I just cruised along. It was no big deal. I cut myself a couple of times wrenching and it wasn't a huge problem. I was a little more cautious that's all. I agree with the good folks here that you should find a doctor you feel comfortable with and stick with the plan. I'm pulling for you brother.
