Flashing yellow light between 70 to 80 mph
« on: July 31, 2007, 05:07:21 PM »

Sometimes riding down the highway to the left of my lane in cloudy weather results in a reflection of the highway yellow dashes off the chrome speedometer bezel, a strobe light effect off the chrome bezel between the 70 and 80 mph numbers. Has anybody else noticed this? It gets pretty irritating after awhile, add this to the hiding of the low fuel indicator by the speedometer lower hand at 60 mph and I wonder if Harley ever rides these before they go into production.

That happens sometimes on my RoadKing.

Annoying at first - now I just ignore it since there is not a fix for it.  never noticed it on the SEULTRA.

Doubtful the MoCo actually has anybody ride the bikes - figure they figure its best if we do and then tell them about them.

I did already.

Noticed sometimes they almost magically change color, from yellow to white or vice versa, just as..... and this is the REALLY weird part......the stripes on the road change to....the EXACT same color.  Eerie.   :huepfenjump3:

Actually, at night the street lights cause a replection the follows the engine turned background of the speedo and actually moves around ithe speedo in a circular motion.  Just a bit annoying, but chrome and shiny is good.

No, that's not eerie at all.  What's really freaky is that guy.  You know who I'm talking about.  THAT guy.  The one who always paces me every late afternoon.  But only when the setting sun is behind me.  Man he rides a good line too.  But he won't finish the pass and he won't fall back.  Always there just a little bit ahead of me.  Bastard.

I swerve, he swerves.  I swoop, he swoops.  I go faster, he goes faster.  I stop suddenly, he does it too.  He's just messing with me.  I make it a point NEVER to talk to him.  He thinks he's smarter than I am.

Flashing lights, little men, voices in your head, man, are you guys drinking your beer with fruit in it or what? That goes against the Man Rules you know.

He follows you too huh?

I notice when its cloudy he just disappears - poof!

Plus if I am under a tree canopy on the road, he is nowhere to be found.

Back out in the sun and the bustard jumps RIGHT in front of me.

On the changing light color deal - I was going to write the MoCo

to see how they engineered those lights on the RK speedo to match the

stripes on the road, but figured I would get some boilerplate response

including the phrase "seek medical help" like most of the rest of them.

I already have insurance so no idea what that means?  :nixweiss:
