And now for paint...
« on: August 10, 2007, 11:06:33 AM »

Now that I've got the motor upgrade, and the functional areas addressed , it's time to deal with  the plain jane paint..

I've been a fan of the SEEG , here's a twist for the FLHXSE project .. just a draft for now .. what do you think?

The symbol is Cherokee (my heritage) for "the Journey"   seemed appropriate

Love paint jobs that give you the impression of depth where you believe you could stick your hand pright inside the fairing or other painted piece!

Looks perfect!

<thinking out loud...I will have to look into painting the Honda Rebel for depth...the tank would appear to give the impression that you are looking at the gas inside as if the tank were clear...the fenders would be like tires through plexiglass...the fairing if it had one would pe painted to look like the guts inside the fairing...hmmmmm>

Nice paint choice or "draft" so far.  How's the rest of the bike going to look?  Love the dimensional effect in the paint and I especially like the Cherokee symbolism in there for "The Journey"!  My grandmother was full blooded Cherokee!  Cool!

This is the set I pulled the effects from  http://jeillusions.com/gallery/gallery_sets.php?s=316

As far as the symbol , I have it on a Bolo tie by a Cherokee artist named Jimmie Warnell, he makes belt buckles too . My dad was Cherokee/Seminole /Cajun .. fun mix.

Nice buckle!  I think it is really cool that you are incorporating some of your heritage into the theme of your bike.  What better choice than a great symbol and life on two wheels is the ultimate "journey"!

Looks like it will be a great paint job. Love the use of your Cherokee heritage symbol.

Looking very reminiscent of the '05 SEEG with a great variation on color and depth!  Can't wait to see the actual finished project.  Sweet!
