The latest iteration of this fuel line has changed from a formed clampless design to a larger diameter line that is clamped at both ends. I am guessing here, but I believe that all early Delphi equipped machines run the clampless fuel line; my ’02 FLTR and my Wife’s ’02 Heritage both have them. I don’t know what year they changed to the clamped style line; apparently sometime after ’03. My machine has almost 55,000 miles and my Wife’s has just over 40,000 miles and the fuel lines on both machines are tight; although I will probably replace them anyway.
Take a look at your fuel line near the chrome fitting where it couples to the gas tank. If your line looks like the formed, clampless line in lower right area of the photo, you might consider having it replaced with the latest clamped style fuel line.
Thanks again to napalm for taking the time to share his experience.
