TW5G vs TW55 or like
« on: February 11, 2005, 11:08:50 AM »

Looking for anyone who has installed either or both of these cams with Cam Gear and no headwork with SE Air Cleaner, Rhinehart True Duals  2 1/2 or 2 1/4 baffles, HD Race Tuner.   I have found only a few posts here and there and not enough information to go on.   I am wondering if it is worth while to do vs keeping the 253 stock cam.  Likes / or Dislikes / issues or praises.

Thanks,

Unbalanced,

I have been looking for the perfect bolt in cam as well. The problems with the 103 and cam choice seem to be clearance issues and low compression, which require headwork and or a piston change. I have spoken with a few engine builders and also saw a dyno sheet on this site that seem to support that the SE 211's would be a better cam choice over the stock 253's. So, as my dealer will honor the warranty with the 211's that is the way I am leaning. The 251's are probably the best choice for my style of riding in the SE cams but I just don't want to pull the heads right now. I have a buddy with a '04 road glide he has the Andrew tw55 I have ridden the bike and the cam came on later then the se253 and did not impress me on the top end. I have heard some recent opinions on the andrews tw60 that it was a cam well suited for the heavier dressers and our springs can handle the .560 lift. [smiley=1syellow1.gif]

i think at this point, any cam choice is better than the cvo-253.
just have to decide where you want to move the power.

Dearest FactoryPhil,

You only smoke me because the bike is a week old and factory spec and has had nothing done.   We both know you are finally winning since I sold the ultra.   Don't worry I will fix that problem shortly.  There is a but here because I cant go to far this time.

However now I must be more careful in how I do it or you guys will never let me hear the end of it if the bike becomes unreliable no matter how fast it is.

And I must set the record straight before you do.

My wife did smoke me tonight 2 times in rolling races at 55 +.  She beat me bad nothing else I can add other than it sucked and the gang got a good chuckle that I prolly wont live down any time soon.

Only difference is she weighs a hole lot less than me and does have the rhineharts already on the 2004 SEEG as compared to my 2005 SEEG which just hit 600 miles today.

Anyhow Phil send me the map already :) and it was a great day riding today !

Cya,

I do not believe it's new and you can buy gear drive or chain driven
Andrews  gear drive TW-60
Chain Drive TW-60
