...Was there ever a determination made on the running problem with the Road King?  Or is it next in line now?

We are falling out of grace with the independent that has been working on our bikes ----- Road King has been there for some time now, they can't determine the problem of why it is missing when it gets hot.
The mechanic refused to add the heated thing for the handlebars on Jamey's bike.  They lost Jamey's dyno run sheet when they did the cam install - How can you do that?  Don't you just name it customer last name?  Overcharged Jamey on the cam = drive chain install ($500 over quote) and now the owner has not been available to talk to for more than one week.

But there are two gorgeous SEEGs out in our garage, my hubby let me sleep in this morning and the weather is promising sunny skies for the next three days.

I already have 200 miles on my "virgin" engine.  I'm not sure what one expects with a new engine.  The first 40 miles or so, there was a hard feeling in the right floorboard. Opie had pointed out that the rear brake pedal is hitting the pipes, a shorter one would work better for me anyway.  The first 60 - 70 miles the bike just seemed a little sloppy feeling ???? not sure how to describe.  The heat of the engine is surprising, much hotter than I remember.  Maybe they used dyno oil, I never asked.  The last 130-140 miles, all smiles!  Feels, sounds fantastic.

Thanks Harry for pointing us to Davis HD.  They did a good job.  Could have been faster to my way of thinking, but there are a lot of folks lined up to get in there, we all have to take our turns.  Davis HD won the National Dealership Award for 2006.  Must me something to be said about them.

And Jamey, thanks for the great way to wake up on my 51st Birthday!  I love you.   :-*

I am so very happy for both of you.  Happy Birthday, Candy.  And Jamie, I feel your pain on the frustrations w/ your bike/service/etc.  Keep us up to date on the break-in and how it's doing.  :drink: har!  spyder

Candy, glad to hear all is finishing up on the build.

Your first miles are like the last lap of a NASCAR race and you have a 1 lap lead.  You hear all kinds of noise and think all kinds of thoughts.

Sounds like your most recent miles are starting to fall into the "good as new" category and that is great.  Enjoy your "new" ride.

Great picture, glad to see you are back in the saddle, hope for smooth sailing for you. Look forward to seeing you in Sedona, this time you will be riding instead of smiling and waving at the rest of us leaving for the ride.

Like you and I (and you and others) have never danced that little dance within a thread here before.

She'd already done that my friend.  So did you read too far, not read far enough, or just feel the need for a little fiber in your diet :nixweiss: ?

Stranger things have happened Don.

Candy,
So so glad to hear the good news and the smile on your face says it all. As I understand it, you've got a stock 103 motor now. My advice is nothing more than a good breather, decent exhaust and a PCIII or a SERT. The cams and all of the other stuff are nice, but they do tend to cut down on longevity.

Hope you see this as just one of those things that happens like when one of us crashes. Don't let this spoil you on road trips. You are a real good rider (better than a lot of men I know) and riding is what you should be doing.

Are you kidding me Howard?!?  First weekend home that Cherry will see a thousand miles or my name isn't "Duck Dodgers, King of the Universe!"
Well Duck, not a thousand miles but more than 650.  We had some other house and yard chores we had to work into the weekend too.  We did happen to wonder in on one of our friends while he was hard at work.

One of the trucks had a nice flag painted into the grill.

Jamey wants one of those horns mounted on his bike.

When we left Gary, he pointed us to a very, very nice road - Rt 53 - past Monticello.  What a fantastic road, thanks for the new motorcycle friendly destination Gary.  It was great seeing you.  Thanks for the tour.

If anyone wonders what Gary does at work, Jamey had to scare Gary off the big shoe shine seat out back.

Wonderful pictures.  Nice to see parts of the gang enjoying themselves and loved to see the gear.

650 fun filled miles.  Congrats on having the bike back on the road Candy.  You guys enjoy a great fall riding season with the bikes back in trim and have lots of fun!
