Well the dealer is working (supposedly) on my bike. He said he had the latest and greatest gaskets from MOCO. I was supposed to go to bike week in SC this weekend. Dealer said he does not loan bikes. Sheltons Harley in Smithfield has dissapointed me. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll have it back by the fall rally. I must say for a 30 thousand dollar bike I am dissapointed. Wished I'd a kept my 2004 Road King.  :worthless:

This is now two bikes that are missing an event because of problems. The reason why I bought my SEUC was to ride to these events. In an ironic twist, my dealership sent me a letter yesterday saying that it has been a year and a half since I have bought my bike and to expect a survey from MoCo. The want me to say good things about them to help the dealership rating. Wonder what I should say when I get it?

You could poop on it before you send it back, or at least wipe your buttockell area with it

wipe the oil off of the cylinder fins with the survey form, take a pic with the survey form shoved in between the fins, and send them back with the statement, I just thought I'd send you proof that the 110's, contrary to the MoCo's "head in the sand stance", do have leaking problems.

I filled out mine outlining the dissappointed I was with the product.  I also mentioned I was satisfied with the dealer, despite the lack of information and availability of parts from the MOCO.
At last visit to the dealer, they told me they received a copy of my survey.

hey hard10
Looks like we have the same bike color and oil leak and all!
Talk about identical v-twins.
When I got my survey I ripped MOCO a new one. And guess what I haven't received a reply from them.

Got my Hogtales magazine yesterday. Saw the engine article inside. The heart of the machine. Harley was bragging on their innovative engines. Funny they didn't mention the 110 motor. Can't imagine why! Dealer still has my bike. I was promised it would be ready today. Guess I'll see.. The Heart of the machine with pacemaker and single bypass surgery ( I hope as I have seen here I don't need triple head gasket bypass heart surgery )...

Bad enough that it's pouring outside, but this site usually helps keep my sanity. I'd like to propose that the gasket issue be nicknamed the HD HERPES project because it keeps coming back. Instead of looking forward to Americade in June, I get to look forward to seepage. Two questions, what is ACR I keep seeing mentioned and does anyone have a "to do" checklist list to give the shop guys if (when) the bike goes back in? Thanks all

ACR is Automatic Compression Release.  They electronic on our bikes and work on a solenoid.  Some have had them fry because the wire to them goes near the heads on the hot 110's.  More than a couple of members have replaced them manual versions during engine mods.

Everyone's list seems to include, rocker box clearancing, checking crank runout, checking for oil leaks front and rear.

Ditto on the above mentioned. But on the crank runout, if its bad enough, you have just won yourself a new engine.

Those of you with 110 leakers, how many are there who have later production dates?

I realize most of the problems dont show up until they get 1500 miles or so . . . .

I guess what I'm trying to ask is; Are the bikes recently coming off the line having the same rate of problems as the earlier ones?

I'm supposed to take delivery of my new '08 SERK some time this month and I'm just hoping the MOCO is starting to get a handle on the problem.

Got an 08 that started spitting at about 2600mi. Just got her back from the O.R. with new gaskets. Am hoping for the best but also have resolved myself to the fact that it aint over yet. But if you can believe it I gotta tell you I still love my bike. Gotta stop drinking the cool aid I guess  :drink:   :huepfenlol2:

If you want the bike buy it. Just don't get pissed if ya get a leaker, just ride it!! It's an awesome bike.

Not any more.  The latest bad cranks have resulted in just a crankshaft replacement, not an entire engine.

Would it be to much to wish for a forged crank with timken bearings? :huepfenlol2: OH, is it also to much to wish for a trued crank? :nervous:
