haven't really ridden it too much with the weather we are having here in ny.
seems fine.
i don't have a tach, but i did not change the gearing so i am going to assume the rpms have not changed.

MAS,

The 211 comes in later and is not all that great of a curve, which is my beef with it as well.   I had the engine apart the first time and it was what was recommended to me.   I then went to the 204 but the rpms went very high on the highway.   The best recommendation if your gonna stay all harley would be to bite the bullet in labor and gaskets and have the 251 put in.

Can we get the 251 in gear driven..seems logical to go with gear driven cams if i'm going to pull everything apart.

2euce,

I have not seen a gear driven one in my adventures of thrift shopping in the harley catalog.   That doesnt mean one is not there, but to be sure I hope one of the guys with a catalog at home will chime in and tells us that my memory is better than i gave it credit for.

O'fender (hehe) sorry not an S&S rep, just spent lots of money with them.   I have had just the opposite experience with them though.   Not sure who your nephew is dealing with but if he is really unhappy send me a PM and would be happy to share with you some names of contacts that might help get the ball rolling for your nephew.

I watched the install / mapping and raced a buddy with this on his bike and his 116 bottom end ran good.  Produced 142 hp and 135 torque.   All I can say is I have had the opposite experience in dealing with S&S .

happy to help if I can

Unbalanced I am not bashing S&S (they make great products with many years experience) the message I was trying to convey was that the VFI product was immature and maybe not ready for prime time, I have rubbed elbows with someone up the food chain at S&S and last summer I asked him a direct question regarding the VFI and his response was buy a carb!!! again I will say "be careful" the DELPHI EFI is a proven solution and the S&S product is not cheap (my nephew did not heed the warnings).
