Good luck brother.  Hope they get her fixed up and you have no future probs. The description of your problem does seem a little unique. Been down awhile myself.

Well I took my bike in for the grips to be replaced another wonder of the o7 ultra ultra. looked at the back cyl and guess what I found? Yes you are right a frigging leak! Now reading all of the problems we all have been having I can't wait to see what happens now. This is not good because the weather is starting to be right for longer rides here in PA and I don't like having my bike in the shop.

Lucky for me we have 3 bikes but I remember the old joke was if you wanted to own a Jag you needed two. One to be a spare while the other one is in the shop. Maybe if they can't get it right for another 10K they will have a buy one get the second free! I have to stop drinking so early.
Stay tuned....

The shop working on my Ultra finally got the ok from MoCo to order the replacement parts, cylanders, pistons, valves, heads etc.
Another 3-5 days before they get the parts. I'm not real happy with HD's warranty response.  Just praying  it doesn't happen  again.  Going to start saving the money to replace the cylanders with after-market when the w**ty ends.

ghostrider,

There is another way around the after-market buys.
Get the extended warranty, then pay for the difference on stock parts to after-market parts, but let your dealership(if you trust him)do the warranty work.
You will come out cheaper.
Just something to think about.

Until that grenades and you have no HD w.....ty either. To me, you're better off putting that extended w.....ty money into the motor. If you have a dealer that knows how to properly assemble a motor, have him do it under w.....ty, and buy the better parts. Just make sure you know you have no HD w.....ty after you build that motor. Maybe the dealer will stand behind it, maybe not. I chose to blow off the w.....ty, and have a professional build my motor. We'll see if that pays off, but since going the dealer route didn't work out for me, I'll take my chances this way from here on in. ;)

I have a local indy here.  He does head work for various dealers in the southwest.  In his younger days he dragged HD's.  So, he is the one I'll have do the work.  And I agree, going to cancel the extended warranty and put the cash to the engine.

You know I hate to be a bummer but as much as I feel your pain and I have pain too. We do have the ability to discuss and alert each other about the good the bad and the ugly. I believe in the brand. That is why I ride it. I believe they want to put out a great American product and I believe they test the C&*P out of it. Sometimes Things happen. I will keep the extra warrantee because I don't want to worry about the other parts. I will be pissed if my auto locks fail and I don't have a warrantee. Just one guys thinking.
Later
PS. My dealer replaced both my front and rear cylinders because of the rear leak. done in a week so I get her back Friday just in time for some snow Saturday....Hey but spring is here! :pineapple: :cucumber:

Excellent point Dave. The SEUC have so much extra expensive stuff on them, that even if you take the engine resposibility yourself, you can still get good value on the extended w.....ty. ;)

With just normal mechanical stuff to worry about on the SERK, most of which was replaced (except the trans), an extended w.....ty for me would be good for the wheels and tires only. And I'd need Road Hazard extra for that!!! ;D ;D ;D

H- Man good to hear or in this case read from you. Looking forward to the CVO Plant non-tour for me but looking forward to seeing you all. This year I left the insurance to someone else. HAHAHA- :nervous:
Hope all is well I just know in my heart of hearts the MOCO and I know when it is going on with me I could give a flying @#@# that they do want to have us ride a safe of safe machines and tested to the max. Hell the shuttel blows up way to much for their testing and HD never leaves the ground. Well in most cases.
Be safe my brother see ya soon

i just received a 18 month ownership experience on my FLHRSE3.... :coolblue:
as i ponder the first 9k miles were great. that happened quickly as i'll ride 30k a year local.

it now has 17k er so. about 4k on new engine.....flogging the chit out of it too. looks like some oil between the cylinders starting to show.

TN, I had fun with that survey last month.  Enclosed a 4 page letter.  I can't wait to put some miles on my replacement leaker.  Sorry to hear about your new leak.

2007 CVO ULTRA

The bike has had a noisy valve train since day one.
The Starter makes an occasional horible noise on occasion.

13,000 miles: Developed Rear Cyl Head Gasket leak two days after Syn3 oil change.

I'll be taking her in for warrenty work now!

Any tips on the New & Improved 110" engine I saw mentioned in a few related threads?
What combination of issues/failures add's up to a New Power Plant?

Luck me, I just got the Vrod running again after a winter rebuild of the 1320 BigBore.
