Time to show this car again folks. The last of the Australian built GM Holden Commodore V8's. 6.3 litre LS3 Chevrolet V8 same as the Corvette of the time.
Basically a "racing car for the road" it is extremely fast. Holden Commodore SSV8 Motorsport edition. Only 1200 made and some exported from Australia LHD.
2017 the GM Holden factory ceased production. GM Detroit declared right hand drive production around the world to be fickle and "too hard basket".
2 weeks ago GM announced withdrawal from Australia entirely , all dealers gone and under notice.
GM Holden have been making cars here since 1948. Sad end of an era.
Flipside ? My car probably jumped $30 K in value overnight , now that's fickle indeed !
I have only done 3,500 Kilometres in it in 3 years , it is a dry Sunday car , and does a minimum run of 50 K's return each outing.

It sat here until I could move some bikes up to Maggie Valley to make room for it in the bike garage.

Nice car.

My neighbor has a near perfect 65 GT-350. Restored to as new with the exception of adding the blue stripes. Stripes were a $34-$40 dollar option that didn't get ordered.

Family friends have a 65 GT 350, bought new in 65 by their late father. It will never leave their family.

My neighbors car is one gorgeous Mustang - I could lust from now till eternity .... He's had it for 33 years, don't think it will leave his possession  :-\

Just as well, couldn't afford it anyway - unless we sold the house.

The 65' GT 350's were the real deal. Holly carbs, Detroit Locker 3rd members, 2 seaters, Koni shocks, 271 hp., 289 cu. in. engines., sintered brakes, Cast aluim. finned valve covers, and cast aluim. deep oil pans that always loosened up.
In 66' Ford got in the act, and a lot of the great parts were replaced with Autolite parts. Carb, shocks, traction Lok rear ends, rear seats, and quarter windows.
I worked for 1 of the largest volume Ford-Shelby dealers in the Northeast from 63' to 70'. I was also instrumental in solidifying the Hertz rental car deal in 66' for Shelby.
