Well based on your post, it appears this will never end. If nothing else, it won't, just to continue to torture you! :2vrolijk_21:

No patience your ass! No one can have been more patient than I throughout this whole ordeal! Harley junk? Yeah, Harley junk. Harley junk is what started this ordeal. And Harley junk is what's causing everyone here to have issues with the 110! I love how you sit there and make all these comments. I'm glad your custom is doing fine, as well as your 88" bikes. When you walk in my shoes, you can then make all the decisions. But to sit there in your armchair and make those weirdo comments, don't do a thing for me. I'm doing the best I can with this POS 110! I don't see you offering any solutions. If the continuing saga of these 110's is getting to you, I suggest you change the channel. Many members with issues are counting on threads like this to help themselves figure out what to do. HD ain't doing chit to help us. And neither are you with these type of posts!

Howie, there are enough drug dealers in NYC that at least one of them with enough money, will let you borrow their scales :coolblue:

Yeah, like that crappy bottom end is balanced anyway! ::)

I did have concerns about that, but Alex said he tried to keep the clearancing even on both pistons (they don't have a scale though, just eyeballed).

Oy....  I was just kidding when I said we don't need no steeenking balance Howie.  Just grinding away on a couple of slugs would worry the hell out of me.  Gram scales aren't that hard to come up with to keep things at least close.

Admittedly I worry about balance issues to a much smaller tolerance on these than I do on a street automotive engine.  We don't have eight holes to absorb a little variation here like we do in an old 327.

Y'know what, worries be damned.  It'll be just fine.  The real world tolernaces for this are more forgiving than we all normally try to work within and you're committed now anyway.  Worries like this are what a compensator is for :2vrolijk_21: .  Don't worry be happy.....

Actually.....    we all know he's just at the end of his rope pushing what feels like deadline after deadline fighting failure after delay after screw up for months and months.  Too many of us know what it feels like fighting the oh-so-excellent-tender-mercies-ministrations-and-hosings of the jackasses that all to often populate the vendor pool in this industy we throw our money at.  It's not an easy place to be a consumer.  And it can only go on so long before you eventually are far too likely to say "good enough" even you know "good" was the original goal.

Howie.  Buddy.  The damn thing will probably be just fine.  Your guy there probably has a very good eye.  And I'll keep right on saying all this until the bike fires and is running again.

................................................................................................

I know I should stay out of this, and I flipped past it a couple times with the definite intent to mind my own business, but I just can't in good conscience let this go without comment.  There is no way on God's green earth that I would allow someone to just grind off parts of my piston skirts.  Send the pistons back to the vendor and have them give you what you paid for.  Hopefully they were supposed to supply pistons with the correct weight to work properly with the stock crank.  If they sent them with the wrong skirt length, that tells me they sent you pistons designed to be used with a stock TC88 crank, not a stroker crank.  There's more to it than just whacking off some aluminum.

My advice, for what it's worth, is after all this time and effort, take a little more time and have them do it right.

Jerry, that's what I'd do too.  However.....   Landing fixation is a bad master.

At this point I think he really is committed though.  Got to just put a good face on it, hope for the best and move on.

Gary, I just know that when you're getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly by vendors and other contract help they can be an EBCM enough all by themselves.  At some point it's time to make like this and stand together even if it's wrong.

Don

Not that I would go off topic but I have a question since you are the,

"Grand and Elite King of Bling and Geedunk"

If dOOd is 2.0 and I'm 2.36, who is between us?

I have aspirations of climbing the EBCM ladder but was wondering who was in my way on my journey to 2.0?

Those aren't rankings Chip.  No competition between brothers.  The member numbers are based solely on astrology as predicted by the computer in my old Thundemax (since I couldn't find any other good use for it!).
