07 SEUC 110 Cold Engine Noise
« on: September 06, 2007, 07:02:20 PM »

I have an 07 SEUC, recently I have noticed that before the engine warms up I have a lot of noise coming from the top of the engine in the 2700 - 3200 rpm range.  I don't notice the noise in any other rpm range.  When the engine warms up the noise decreases.  Is this the rocker noise I have been reading about or is this something else.  Any and all help would be appreciated.

what kind of pipes you running? the reason I ask is I run SE slip ons, did have a noise like you are describing, sounded like it was coming from up top, when cold it would knock, then after about 20 or 30 miles it would stop...... turned out to be a baffel broke loose in the pipe....... when it got hot it expanded.... no noise!!!! the way we found it was on a cold motor we started the bike and stuck a screw driver up the tail pipe!!

Thanks for the response I'm currently using stock pipes.  I'll give your idea a try, next time I fire her up.
