I purchased the extended warranty on my current scoot. I used a it a couple of times. Since I am in the military the warranty really paid off. The total cost to do the job approximately $500.00. I went to a local dealer and they did the work under the coverage.

The only hassle I had happened to finding the contract to prove I had extended coverage. I agree, if you are not moving like I do then find a good indie to do the work. If not that is the way to go. I was back on the road on Monday.

Mind you I currently have a 97 and my moving as decreased considerably, but boy did it pay off. Yes, the coverage can be worked out what you want covered and for how long.  I am going to get the extended warranty simply because this is my retirement present so I plan to keep it for some time.

I have never been in favor of purchasing warranties of any kind.  However, on my new 08 SEUC, I did.  These new bikes are the most advanced H-D has ever produced, and there are plenty of electronics gadgets to go bad, not to mention the aforementioned mechanical issues that surround these new motors.  This is all new ground for H-D and there are bound to be issues.  Is it likely that I'll not use all of the $$ I spent on the warranty?  Probably, but I don't have to be caught off guard if it goes the other way.  Just my $.02
