Add me to the list
« on: September 14, 2007, 11:19:43 PM »

Well I  thought maybe my 07 CUSE was going to be ok but guess what... I too have an oil leak emanating from the rear jug. Its either leaking from the head or at the base of the cylinder. There is more than just a bit of oil weeping out. Bike has 15,000 kms.

I have a Tmax AT, VH TD with Oval slip ons and an AN big sucker installed. I wonder if I should bring the bike back to stock before I take it back to the dealer.

If I knew it was only a gasket problem I would probably take it to my indy shop and bite the bullet but with all I've read on this amazing site I'm concerned that a leaking gasket could be the least of my problems.

What a joke.

Sorry to hear about the gremlins getting you to.  As far as the stuff on the bike I would leave it and take it in,  there is noting that you have done that caused this issue.  It is a defect that the motor co is well aware of.

Make them check the crank runout even if you pay if it passes.  If it doesn't pass, the motor is replaced.  Find out now.  If it's good, you will have a baseline going forward.   I plan on having mine checked every year, if I keep it.   Cedrtainly have it checked before the warranty exspires.

Thanks for the advice. I went into my local dealership today and the service manager said he would honor my warranty. He was giving me grief about my Tmax though.

He knew right away about my problem and said that Harley doesnt clearance the rocker boxes at the factory. He didnt know why they dont.

I am going to pay extra to have the crank runout checked.

Thanks again!

Strange, if I got your post right. What has clearancing the rockers got to do with the oil seepage.  :nixweiss:
