How many miles do you have?
« on: February 20, 2005, 07:31:51 PM »

Just sitting here pissed off about Chicago weather... Thinking just how did I manage to accumulate 4155 miles in three months of riding my pumpkin last fall? Have had 20 or so bikes and NONE have accumulated mileage so quickly.  Maybe it's a defect  [smiley=laugh.gif]  Just wondering how many I'd have if I didn't live in the worst climate in the world.  Yes, trust me, it's the worst.  We may not get the most snow, but I think it's the only place in the world that can vary from a 60 below wind chill to a 130 heat index within a 6 month period.  Quite jealous of you southerners right now!  Just wondering which one of you has the highest mileage.

Mine is a month old and I'm at 800 miles.
Have had about 6 days that it wasn't raining or freezing or I wasn't working. [smiley=furious.gif]

But that will change! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

It has been raining every weekend since I bought my bike.  Yesterday was the first time that I could ride it.  I have 302 miles on my bike.  I rode home from the dealership where a purchased the bike in Oregon (cuz I was told my bike would fit fine in a 5x10 uhaul trailer).  When we arrived at the dealership I was told the bike would not fit through the door.  So I rode it 239 to get it home.  It will be nice once I get 500 miles on my bike so that I can go over 50 mph.[smiley=beerchug.gif]

Perhaps everyone is missing the collusion and conspiracy afoot between mother nature and Harley Davidson's P&A division.  When we can't ride we buy parts and we tinker and we think about other parts and accessories and ideas and we buy more parts and we tinker and see other ideas and we buy parts and we tinker and we buy mor....  Well, you get the idea.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to go put on that new Memphis Shades red tinted windshield and see if I like it or not........

It was a bad year for us, moving, changing jobs, fixing up the old house, clearing out of the old job, trying to do great at the new job, remodling the new house...

First year on the Black & Blue and I only got to the 10,000 mile service, weather isn't the only disclaimer! It's a shame when you start to call a ride to work "Riding."

Don't be suprised to see my calander next year revolve around Daytona, Myrtle, Sturgis and the Smokies!

I needed a poll answer that says I can ride, but my bike is in the shop and has been for 45 days.  In the five good riding days I had between Christmas and Jan 10, I put 1348 miles on my new bike.  It was fun and fantastic. I can still feel how good it was. Now the RK has got quite a few miles on it that it was not supposed to.  Now I hope to get the SEEG back this week, Can I come back and answer you in a month?  Mr WeCVO is taking his next week to Montgomery, AL.  Anyone here know the back roads of that part of the world?  He will be looking for a riding mate.  Out here.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I have had my bike for 16 days. I brought it home in my enclosed trailer. I've been avoiding riding because of the salt on the roads. We had some rain weekend of 2/12 so I took a little spin Tues 15th. I now have 32 miles on my bike. More crappy weather Friday 2/18 a little snow and freezing rain, and I think the state roads decided, if they didn't use up their quota of road salt they might not get any next year. The roads are a mess again.

Got the bike at the end of October and after a 350 mile weekend, I now have a whopping 1300 miles on the bike. Guess I have been busier than I thought this winter. Hopefully all of the hard work will payoff in money and more free time. My fingers are crossed.

Yo Guys and Gals,
Bike is sleeping in a nice warm dry spot so an exact number to the tenth is out of the question.  I can tell ya that I am just shy of 15k by bout 30 or so miles.  Been from Ohio to Bike Week in Myrtle, Sturgis, Beartooth Pass, Cheif Joseph Hiway, Yellowstone , Grand Tetons, and back.  Don't get much better!  Sooooo much more to see and so little vacation time!  LOL

Nine months and 6603 is lowest mileage for me in many years. My average year is more like 15k.  I will admit to spending alot of time shining it but, also was without it for three weeks while the dealer diag/repaired a front cylinder head problem.  That was at the end of May last year about a month after purchase.  There is a happy ending, now it runs great [smiley=laugh.gif]
