Hey! Don!!
Great paint job, with or with out the Screamin Eagle, Hey! don't think I ever saw any where but what was the cost of the painting? I'm playing with Buying it new or one used and having it painted?? PM me if you refer!!
The other Don!!!!!!!!
Thanks Don. I'm pleased with the final outcome also. The painting work really wasn't bad at all; especially the first part.
A local body shop whose work I'm familiar with did the solid color paint work. I had a used set of lowers and their caps that were scuffed that I'd scored on eBay for next to nothing. Also had that Street Glide rear fender light part. They painted the trailer, the lowers and the rear light all for $500.00. They sprayed the base and six coats of color to get the color match. Couple coats of clear on top. The color match is dead on in any lighting condition.
The striping/graphics work cost almost as much. For just over two hours work that $400 was a lot pricier than the $500 for the original paint work. But it's a custom painter at a rally event. So what are you gonna do

?
The custom guy did make a brown paper stencil to story board the design we'd sketched. So eash side is as identical as such work could be. My first suggestion was the bird heads with about 3/4 the lenght of tail they currently have. And that was it. Just to pick up the engraved bird heads on the bike and the shift linkage and carry it back to tie to the two together.
That he'd have done for $200. Once he saw the trailer itself though he started the "well, we can do just that, but it'd look better if we did this too, and some of that, and a little up here." By the time he was done I was scratching fleas and panting and the price had gone from two to four hundred. He did do a nice job though. And I'm real pleased with the results. So I'm not complaining.
