Hoist,

I'm not picking on the CVO bikes, not at all, I actually like the older ones with the 103's, they didn't have any issues!! I'm just sad that all these guys who are CVO fans buy the new bikes with the 110's because they like them and then they have issues!! I just don't like to see that, thats all!!

I see these guys who bring home their new bike and then they have to bring it back in to the dealer, thats just not cool, you know!! I know I wouldn't be happy!!

It's not picking on the CVO bikes, it's hoping to not see that happen anymore, right! :2vrolijk_21:

                               I still think your loaded!! :o :o
                                                                              MIKE :coolblue:

First off, I haven't had 1 drink today! :D

I know exactly what you're saying Mike. But HD's having loads of problems across the board right now. QC is in the crapper. That's why I said don't test the chopper gods. The 96" don't leave you immune from their "Lack of QC" disease.

Not cool, sad, annoying, not happy. I've been thru them all. I got some I ain't saying here too. But there is no other bike like my SERK. I've continued to say this ain't rocket science. So we have to take some matters into our own hands. We all have different tolerances for that. I can't tell anyone how much to put up with. I just know that I'm gonna do what I gotta do to get it right. I'm so close I can taste it now. But only time will tell! ;)

I was faced with the same issue in 04 and I waited.

Best decision I ever made.

I agree with the rest of advisors.

You could be right.  But I look at this way.  I have never owned a CVO bike and have always wanted one.  I sold off two bikes to pay for this one.  My wife and I love Ultra Classics.  We've looked and test rode several other brands and always come back to HD.  We know what to expect and we may have some issues, and we're willing to accept it for what it is.  It's what we like and enjoy.  We think these CVO Ultra's are like artwork.  It's not about the money, it's about buying what you like and your expectations going into the purchase.
Dog,
As long as you know about the possible issues that might occur, then thats ok, you know what you want and are willing to deal with it!! Some guys go buy their first CVO bike not knowing anything and thats what I don't like!!
If you know about it and thats what you want, then I agree, go for it, and like Hoist says, you can work around it if you have problems. There are plenty of guys here that can help you with that!! They are nice bikes once all that is cleared up!!

Good Luck with the new Bike,

I know there is going to be the "play" factor.  I'll ride it for awhile the way it comes and go from there.  I'm figuring some pipes, SERT, A/C and she'll be running fine.  It's a touring bike and I won't be looking for perfection on the tuning - I'm going to ride it.  If the cylinders or something big goes south on me, the warranty will kick in fix it.

It's one beautiful bagger that comes with some baggage - at least the bikes don't talk back...  ;D

I'd spend a lot less time worrying about the new engine and the possibility of problems than what is being discussed here.  Yes, the first ones out did seem to be plagued with problems if you listen to all the chatter on this forum. I do, however, have a couple of friends with the first 110s who have NO Problems, At All!  A year and some to make some changes, who says you should be borrowing trouble and expecting problems.  I think one should expect smooth sailing, no issues at all, and then if something does happen, you deal with it.  That problem. I have had problems with my motorcycle, but not necessarily the same ones as other people.  My husband and I have virtually the same bikes. We have not had the same issues with our bikes.  Get the one you really want, and ride it and have a whole heck of a lot of fun.  My advice, anyway.

If you go for the Frost White SEUC, check the paint very carefully.  I have seen three scoots where the saddle bag lids DO NOT match the bags and the inner fairing does not match the outer fairing.

No doubt about it, guilty as charged.  Funny thing is that of the three HD's I have owned, all have been a pleasure to ride and no real problems to report.  Believe me, read the BMW, KTM, etc. forums - they all have their fair share of issues as well.  It ain't perfect, but I just love these bikes and the great feeling of being out on the road with my Harley, so the glass is half full for me.  And remember, eating a good chili dog or cheeseburger and fries is chit for food, but we always seem to come back for more of that too... :D

I agree deuce! Been riding 'em for years, and wouldn't give mine up for anything! The glass is more than half full. But if you expect it to be completely full, like I do, you will have to fill the remainder yourself! Don't be expecting the MoCo to do that for you. You can easily start seeing that same glass as half empty! ;)

MMMmmm...where am I going to ride to today for lunch....

It's what ever you want to make of it.  If you want to be misserable...then guess what..you're gonna be misserable.  I refuse to let people bring me down.  Life is much too short for that.  I'm upright and breathing and that is 100% better than the alternative.
Seems like we loose sight at time of the days when we all used to dream of owning a bike like these.  Next time you're sitting at a light waiting for it to turn green...look at the little kid sitting in the back seat of the car next to you drooling all over himself thinking that some day he's gonna own one.

Can any of us imagine being without the experience of riding bikes...I can't and I'm thankful every day that I'm able to do so.   :soapbox: ok...off the box.   ;D

Let's ride!!

Wait, I was at the Open House Saturday, they had about 8 in the Anniversary color in line for final inspection, the color and graphics are so much nicer definitely worth waiting for, mine is supposed to ship this week too.
Good luck

Duecedog,
I'd go with my original decision on color and wait.  I think you'll be happier with the Anniversay scheme.  From what I've heard, some folks have walked into a dealer and looked right past the white/silver CVO because it looks just like a regular white Ultra.  It blends in that much.  I hear the color differences between the white and the silver is so subtle, you can't really distinguish from any distance from the bike.  I didn't want my CVO to look like another Ultra, I wanted to stand out from the rest of the Ultra crowd, so I got the color I wanted, like AJ, the black and orange...besides it looks great with d00d's pumpkin when we've ridden together. ;)
Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,
