This is Wes' spec on the CR595-07 cams:

Timing @.053
Intake: 20 open, 42 close, .595 valve lift, 1.625 rocker ratio, .366 net
Exhaust: 50 open, 12 close, .595 valve lift, 1.625 rocker ratio, .366 net

Intake Duration:242, Lobe Center: 101
Exhaust Duration: 242, Lobe Center: 109
Lobe Separation Angle 105, Overlap 32

I'm having him customize them slightly now and make them in gear drive for my new motor.

Hope this helps Talon! ;)

I saw in the post where you said you wanted gear drive, but noticed the chain. Keep us posted after you get a chance to tune and ride. So far I've heard nothing but good comments about Cycle-Rama. I'm going to be doing a 95 build on my RK, they have a good setup that gets 100 hp and about 100tq. The torque is long and flat, I asked about your cams because a buddy of mine is getting ready to tear into his 110. I'll be in the same boat as you, done a lot with other motorcycles, 4X4's, and cars, not much on the HD's except to help friends. thanks for the info. Did you do anything with the clutch, or still running stock?

I am running the Cycle Rama 595 chain drive cams.  Howie is running the Cycle Rama 595 gear drive cams (maybe a slightly modified grind).  Wes grinds the cams himself, so he can grind either - whichever you prefer - chain drive or gear drive.

I have not changed anything with the clutch, but I will...just to be safe.  I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet...

In the same boat here Scott.  Am assuming the clutch will need a bit of help after the work is done.  But haven't decided what to do yet.  Since mine already had 30 something thousand it's a no-brainer choice to do something.  It's about the last choice I've not made yet though.

Hey Jim (if you see this), you wade hands on through the alternatives more than anyone else here.  What are the best options?

I'm looking at switching to an AIM total lockup pressure plate, not sure what disks I'll use.  I think a few people here have used the pressure plate, think Chip has one.

Howie - Is this the clutch you are using?

Chip - Are you using this?

If so, did you order it directly from AIM or another source?

Going with the AIM for my build. Waiting for Wes to finish working out the new grind on 595 cam. You build looks great. Really has me pumped up for mine to get under way.
By the way, did you thermal coat heads and pistons?

Happy New Year to all! :orange:

JW,

Yes, Wes did thermal coat the heads and pistons.  Good luck with your build...

Don;
I agree on the VPC 84 plate, it works very well and is easy to install into the existing basket. For a complete clutch pack in my opinion the Rivera "Pro-Clutch" is hard to beat.

Jim,

Howie is using the VPC 92T.  What is the difference between the 92T and the 84?  What does the installation consist of?  Do you sell these clutch plates?

thanks...Scott

The VPC 92T has a higher torque rating than the VPC 84T.  Here's AIM's website: http://www.aim-tamachi.com/motorcycle/

Specs and instructions are on their site.

I am using the VPC 92T with a 103" spring and easy ramp and have no problem with 120 ft/lbs.

Thanks Jim.  Nice to see experience with the products confirm what a little homework had seemed to suggest.  Biggest part of the decision now is whether I even want to screw with jacking up the existing basket or just replace the entire pack give the miles on it to start with.
