Bubblehead

Thanks for your post.
I looked at that one and @ 17K$'s with 35K miles on it I think it's WAY to much!
That makes Brians seem like much more of a bargain. (I think)
The best thing going for me is that I rarely get the "Got to haves".
The economy is slowing, winter is coming so timing will be in my favor.

I have narrowed my choices down to an 03 Road Glide in silver and black or a Screaming Eagle Road Glide.
If anybody knows of one please let me know!
The 08 Ultra has no place in my garage.

Howie, didn't you read the post a couple above this one?  :zwtf: It is not any fun ribbing you if your not going to give me chit back. ;D I know, you must have been too tired, here it is to read when you get up, I'll give you another chance. :2vrolijk_21:

Chit, close to 40K (including sales tax) plus another at least 10K to make it mechanically acceptable, then pick it up and head out on a trip, chits on me after an hour, gets towed home, catch a flight, then borrow a bike, not to mention let people get pictures of me riding bitch? Not a chance, I'll leave that fun for New Yorkers!

Can I choose to ignore it twice Mark? Guess not! ::)

Frankly, I'm handling all the disappointments from this bike very well. It's good points keep me going in my quest to make it perfect. The CVO's are the best bikes to make real bikes out of. This one's taking more than I thought. But I'll get it where it needs to be, yet! So don't be so skeered of them. And don't knock riding bitch. One day you'll need to do it too. It's better than being stranded! But I'm getting chit for just posing riding bitch! What's up with that? :nixweiss: ;D

Chip, that Cloud is perfect for you. Throw that 131 in it and don't look back! You won't have to do much else to it except for suspension, brakes, ECM, handlebars, and clutch! :D

This bike could become a real keeper for you if you do it right! ;)

I can get a deal on the S/E Ultra but I have decided it's just not me.
One 50K bike is enough for me.
Think about it, 35 for bike + 12 for motor and H/P work + 3 for transmission and clutch + 2.5 for Traxxion, shocks, truetrack + 2 in chrome to keep dOOd off my back + 4 in labor and misc ='s 56.5 K in a bike that would sell for 28 to 33 when I grow tired off it. And I will get tired of it because it doesn't ring my bell. Might as well give the money I would waste to AJ.

For half that amount I can have a Screaming Eagle or Silver and Black Road Glide that would be a keeper.

I can't believe there asking that much, but as I said didn't look that close. I have found that they ( at least in my case) have been more negotiable than the other stealers I have delt with. Everything on my 08 SERK was negotiated. Got big discounts on parts, gap, e.s.p. and finance rate. Bike at MSRP. Best deal I could find. Good luck Silver-Black !!  What about F.B.I.? somewhere aroud 40k 200 tire, 124", custom paint (wonder what colors ???) seems like a really good starting point. I was close to considering that route but loved the 08 SERK paint (silver/black basically) and need the extended warrenty. Hope I don't regret it.

No idea of course what the guy actually has as a reserve.  If it went reasonably this would likely be your preference of the SERG color combos wouldn't it?

Chip, just thought of something else.  Don't know what you like or don't like about the looks of the various Road Glides.  If you're a fan of that "swoosh" across the fairing though that'll be one thing to consider on the 03 Silver and Blacks.  They didn't have the swoosh.

Also wasn't it last year ('07) that they finally got the "swoosh" to match up to the stripe on the tank?

Yes, finally got that right again.  Never could beleive they left that screwed up that long after the fairing mount change.

Nice thing about the SERGs is that the bird head lines up where you'd like to see it too.

I am in the same boat...My SEUC3 is due in Nov but with all these issues I am re-thinking my purchase also!! I had an 'O7 SEUC2, but for the money did not really turn me on.
I liked the '08 for the new features (Tour-Pak..not leather) and paint etc..etc..,but these motor problems and then all the up-grades to make it run...WOW!! I was talking to my dealer about the Jims 131 on thursday, very interesting idea!!! Does anyone have any history with Jims on this board?? I had heard there were some problems with the 120's lifters.
Let's see.....an '08 M. Orange FLTR w/ABS and a Jims 131 motor, nice!!
This CVO board is great!!

There are quite a few Jim's 120's in bikes owned by members of this site.
The bike pictured below has a Jim's 120B that has given no issues in almost 6K miles.
My position is that I don't want to spend money to fix an issue that should be a non issue to start with.
