Picked up bike today!! New Pictures Attached
« on: October 01, 2007, 04:47:40 PM »

Picked my new bike arrived today!! numbered 51 of 1800. the original due date was 2nd week of September. Added  SE pipes, SE A/F and SE race tuner. Bought 2 exrea years of warranty. Wanted to put Rineharts on but not available yet so I settled for SE pipes, not bad sounding. Hopefully weather will hold out for a couple of weeks to break in. More pictures at end of thread.

Congratulations, I like the anniversary the best.  Can't comment on the warranty issue.  I didn't get it and haven't had a problem.  My $.02 is it couldn't be bad insurance.

My new bike arrived today!! numbered 51 of 1800. the original due date was 2nd week of September. I cant pick up for a couple of weeks, leaving on a trip tommorow. Cant wait to get back. Any input on buying extended warranty would be appreciated. lraning towards not buying.

Great looking bike, congrats. :2vrolijk_21: In regard to the extended warranty and knowing of the possibility of the problems w/the 110 ci motors I guess some questions to ask yourself are...

1. How long are you going to keep the bike?? Longer then two years??

2. How many mods are you going to do to the bike?? If just pipes and SERT/PC/Etc. then you might consider. Even w/changing cams you still may want it.

Unless you were going extensively in the motor to change stuff and will still have a majority of the MoCo parts in the bike it might be a good thing to get the extended warranty. I believe you have 30 days and/or 1000 miles to purchase it at a reduced price, after that the price will go up. You also can shop at different dealers for prices. Even though they will tell you extended warranty's aren't negotiable they are, and they will be honored at all dealers.

:nixweiss: Congrats on the new scoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Looks great and I wish you many happy miles on the seat.  Mine was due to ship on 9-7, rescheduled for 9-28 and then revised to 9-25. As of today the bike did not ship according to the dealer. Dealer claimss that they get a VIN number and ship notification once the bike actually ships, so far either one has showed up in thir system.

Thanks for the pictures!

That's an awesome looking ride!! :) I know you'll have a hard time waiting for that first ride. My husband just picked up his Frost White and Silver SE Ultra on Friday. We took it out for a spin Sunday. It's a great riding and very comfortable bike and that new radio with the XM and all is wonderful too. Your gonna love it! As for the extended warranty, my husband has never bothered with them and has never had a need for them either. But then he's one who trades about every 3 to 4 years. Sandy

Congrats on the new bike. It looks great! I would buy the ext Warranty. I bought one for my 07 CVO and I'm glad I did. 7 years of coverage. I plan on keeping the bike all 7 years, if you do, buy it, if you don't I would not. Your bike has alot of stuff that can go wrong and cost alot of money, one problem and you cover the cost of the warranty. It's peace of mind. I paid $1749 for the extra 5 years of full coverage with no deductable and no mile limitation, giving me a total of 7 years of full Factory Coverage. I do not know if that was a fair deal or not, but that is what I did.

Congrats on the new bike!  #51 is a pretty low number, so they must just be gearing up production on these.  As far as the warranty, I bought one for my '04 and it has paid for itself.  Ordinarily, I'd say it's a crap shoot whether it's worth it or not, but there have been enough issues with the 110s that I think I'd just go ahead and bite the bullet on one.  You're talking, what, 5% of the cost of the bike for the peace of mind?  Sounds like a good idea, to me.  Like 'D00d said, shop around, since the warranties can be purchased from other dealers.  I recall some here have gone to Chicago H-D for their warranties after finding they had the best price.

Good luck and thanks for the photos. :2vrolijk_21:
