Well, it seems official. This just in from Zanottis:

"Yes you will need to use the Digital Technician for the module."

It appears Big Brother wants to be involved in everything you do to these bikes. I guess I'll live with this "gadget" in the system right now. Maybe I'll get the module and carry it around with me, JIC I have a problem with that alarm. Nothing's easy on these things these days. It's only bound to get worse with the MoCo. Glad I got an '07. It will definitely be my last new HD. Time to just get this one as right as I can! ;)

Hey man, great to see you back! :2vrolijk_21:

No it didn't surprise me oner bit. But you know what? I don't believe that BS either. They said the same thing about the ACR's. And all you had to do to lose them, is disconnect them.

I ordered the new TSM. It'll be here on Tues. I'll try swapping it out and see once and for all whether or not it's BS. If it's true, oh well, I'll wait til I have the stomach to return to a dealer. Otherwise, it's just more HD BS propaganda! ;)

Hoist!

What did you find out about field swapping the TSM without involving a trip to the dealer??

I'd love to get rid of my alarm also.  Last week I got stranded because of the alarm system on my CVO.  I went out to the garage to start the bike.  I was wearing my fleece sweatshirt and the alarm fob was in the pocket.  I then changed into my leather jacket and took off down the rode.  About 15 miles later, as I was nearing my destination, I remembered the key fob was back at my house in the pocket of my seatshirt.  I turned the bike off at my destination (a friends house) and was stranded there drinking his beer until my woman could come by and drop off the key fob.  What a PITA!!!!

So is the TSM changeout the answer?

Thanks!

Sounds like you have a real good woman who would come "Save the Day" by bringing you the key fob after you had to suffer so drinking buddy's beer and all.

I bought the new non-security TSM and will be experimenting over the winter to see if you need the digi-tech or not. I'll let you know. But you definately need to swap out the TSSM with a TSM.

Sounds like someone needs a new dealer.  There ARE a few of them out there.

Oops, I forgot to update this. Yep, I removed the TSSM and siren and had the TSM installed by a HD Tech with a portable DT at my friend's shop. No more stupid annoying proximity alarm anymore!!! I love it this way. None of my other bikes have alarms. In NYC, I've grown accutomed to locking it ALL THE TIME, no matter where I travel. And I never park where I can't see it or check on it. If they want the bike, that stupid alarm ain't stoppin em!!! ;)

Hey Hoist, howzit goin? A reply to a post from 2007....wow!!!

I realize that it’s a little late, but how about toggling the security system into the “service mode”. This disables the security until the next time a paired fob is present when the ignition is turned on….or you could just take the phucking thing off and crush it into small pieces; that works too. :) If the boiler for your sidewalk and driveway ever soils the nest, the mulch made from your security system would make a great traction device in the winter.   ;D

I may have suggested it awhile back but I think that you were on a major caffeine buzz or maybe jacked-up over a lack of caffeine.  ;D

As long as we are covering security systems, how far east from Niagara Falls would a person have to travel in order to run into some interesting riding country?
