As a tie-in to my quest for better lights for the scoot, here is the third annual, post 3-Day write-up by one of the veterans of this event.

Even as touching as the pictures are, it all pales in comparison to actually being there.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to Pinkie's fundraising. With your help she cleared her requirement with ease.

We'll be doing the event next year and hope we can count on your support then.

Hey everyone. I think I'm done. I contacted the Whelen marketing dept. and the lady there, another cancer survivor, suggested I contact the regional rep. I just talked to the rep and it's a done deal.  He asked me what I needed and where he should ship them. That's it. I didn't have to beg and plead. What a stand-up and awesome company.

I want to say thank you to each and every one of you who offered to help, especially to the ever so generous one who shall remain nameless. Mahota was moved to tears when she learned of everyone's generosity. Thank you again.

I don't know when everything will show up, but when it all does, I'll be sure to post some pics when I get them all wired up and blinking.

I'll have to try my hand at a youtube video for that. I don't know how quickly they'll show up as he said he may have to stretch the process out a bit to get his best price. That's OK as I won't be needing them until next summer. I hope they get here quicker than that because it would make a nice winter project. I'll need to bend up some brackets to mount them on the rear and that may take a few tries to get it right.

I'll post something when they start showing up.

Great news!    Don't you just love to hear when a company is more than willing to step up to the plate and sponsor a worthwhile cause.  Make sure that everyone knows that the lights were a donation when you use them.  That is word of mouth advertising that is going to be good for the company.  I know, I like doing business with a stand up company, and am sure others feel the same way.

Great news!    Don't you just love to hear when a company is more than willing to step up to the plate and sponsor a worthwhile cause.  Make sure that everyone knows that the lights were a donation when you use them.  That is word of mouth advertising that is going to be good for the company.  I know, I like doing business with a stand up company, and am sure others feel the same way. 

I was blown away no doubt. I asked them if they could include some sort of decal or sticker I could use to advertise their contribution.

I'm sorry I got in so late on this topic.    I'm glad to see that the company stepped forward to donate the lights. My mom is a recent (2 years) survivor of breast cancer and I'm a firm believer in the cause.  So don't hesitate to ask for help in the future.  Looking forward to seeing your setup when you get it done.

I'm coming up your way twice next year. We'll be in DC for Rolling Thunder again and I've also registered to crew the 2008 DC 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk on October 3-5. Maybe we'll have better luck hooking up next year than we did this year.
