Howie, please forgive me for editing your quote. The power of prayer is the greatest tool we have and our CVO family has diligently petitioned our Lord in favor of allowing Josh to move his little toes! But let us agree, we have NO control over Josh's body, only God does! So I believe He and only He should get the GLORY!!! Even the doctors said it would take a miracle! I remember when Barry told me that I said "Good, our God is in the miracle business!"  We prayed that God would allow Josh to move his legs and walk again for His Glory!!! So for me I say "To God be the Glory!"

I just backed into our shop at work to unload some tooling when I got the call from Barry. When he told me the good news I started yelling "Praise God, Praise God for answering in our favor!" I then told Barry we need to go in prayer and thank God for this wonderful news. I could hardly keep from crying. Needless to say, everyone around me scattered. I am so filled with joy and love for our Lord to hear our prayers and give us ALL a wonderful blessing.

God is good and not just because He answered our prayers. God is creator over everything and in perfect control in all things! His Love is greater than we can humanly comprehend! May all who prayed be filled with Joy to see the power we have in prayer and not to take it lightly. May we all continue to use this power for Josh as his road is long to recovery and for any other areas of our lives.

In the bible the book of James who was the brother of Jesus wrote in James 5:16 (King James Version) Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

I personally like the same verse in the New Living Translation Bible James 5:16 Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.

Josh will be able to read these before the weekend is out.  It will mean so much to him. It has been a very emotional day. I cant thank you all enough.  It is so cool for my wife to come and ask me who is Neal? Or Who is Lilbear... and I just say thats my CVO family.

Thanks to everyone who's been following this thread and all the thoughts and prayers are a true blessing!! This family is beyond awesome!

Please continue to keep Josh in the forefront of your concern and prayers for continued progress and upgrade the "wiggle the toes" to "MOVE them feet!!"

Also, Please take the time to post on that link that Barry provided. I know that all this love and encouragment is a big part of the healing process!!

I believe Barry posted that Josh is having surgery on his elbow on Monday! Extra thoughts and prayers for a succesful surgery and bless the surgeon to repair the damage for a complete recovery to that arm!

Thank you all for being you and I know that if I was in need of loving support and encouragement that I never have to look further than the GREAT people on this site! You bring sunshine to my heart!!

Such great news that josh is making progress, it makes me feel good to hear.

Barry, good job in starting the caringbridge website to show his progress to everyone interested and having the guestbook to show him how people care about him, I just posted on the guestbook. I remember eight years ago when I was fighting cancer how having a laptop in the hospital kept me from going insane even though I had to use dial up. When I had my latest operation just three weeks ago the hospital didn't have any hotspots so I had to sniff my way in getting on line access. When laying there in the hospital you can feel so distant with the world sometimes.

Got home early tonight and wanted to post before going to bed.

Josh has been very light headed today as they are weening him off of the meds that have been keeping his blood pressure high. They do this after spine surgery to
keep oxygenated blood flowing to the spinal cord.  He was a little more groggy today but still in good spirits. 

We did have a first today...he had a pain response in his legs...we were all so excited!!! If you pinch him hard  on his toes or between his toes...his whole leg yanks away. He still cant move his legs on his own...but at least his brain controls his legs enough to pull away when there is pain. This is a small improvement and we are very happy with it. It was cool to see his legs move!!!

He will have surgery on his elbow monday at 10 am...they will put a few pins in and that should heal fairly quickly.

I just got the most AMAZING news!! Ken just got off the phone with Barry. He told Ken that he'd made a deal with Josh that if he wiggled them toes TODAY he'd spring for a hunting trip out west when he got better. To his breathtaking astonishment and Josh's dogged determination he WIGGLED THEM TOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am beyond stunned and thrilled as I'm sure everyone sending out thoughts and prayers and chants will be after reading this!!

WAY TO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO JOSH!!!

Thanks to the powers of positive prayer and thought and faith from EVERYONE on this great site and above us, Josh has this awesome news today!!

What a emotional day!!!

I am home for a few hours for food and rest...
Josh is so proud of himself, as am I.  He has to work on it a few minutes but
once the wires short out...he can move his legs, ankles, and flex his feet. I dont think I have seen Doctors and nurses that excited before...

With this many people praying...why would they be surprised when God heals him?

I am overwelmed by this site...you are all too much!!!

My wife is updating the site daily that I posted yesterday...If yall could go to the site and leave Josh a note of encouragement or tell a story of someone you know that has overcome stuff like this. It will mean a lot to him and to my wife!!!
Cheri and Ed have already left messages...but I would like my wife to see the real bond that we have on this site.

Joshes uncle in Boston told my wife that he is sending him a new laptop so he can read the site daily...so here is your chance to wish Josh a get well directly to him!!!

That is great news that Josh is getting a laptop.      We hope to meet him some day.

I think Cheri and I are going to stop by the hospital today to visit Barry and his family. We've purposely stayed away thus far because of the numbers of visitors he's had. It can become a nuisance even though people have the best intentions. I'll be sure and pass on the thoughts and prayers of everyone on this great site.
