If this is in the wrong area, someone please move it. Thanks in Advance.

I just got a call from Barry. His 18 y/o son Josh had a bad car wreck this morning and is still in surgery. He's got some broke bones in his neck. As of right now, he can't move his legs. Barry sounded really concerned. I tried and give him some confidence that young kids snap out of things like this quicker than us old guys. I can only imagine how he feels.

He asked that the CVO web site members, esp JR, keep Josh in their prayers. Let's pray he has a fast, speedy & full recovery.
I am sorry to hear about the 18 yr old Josh having a bad car accident.
My and my SO are praying for the son and the Family in all of the difficulty that is to come.
Keep us posted.

I was checking in here and saw mention of Karen and caught the post JR made.

Continued thoughts and prayers for Josh, Karen and the entire family.  Barry I can't even imagine.

Embarrased to say I'm in the same boat as Roger and Altug above.  In the Rider down section I very very often catch the thread at the beginning and once the news itself has been read and responded to if there's any need don't venture back in to a given thread.

Hadn't seen a lot of the later news on Josh or of Karen's accident.  Barry, your family is going through hell this year yet from what is written here and on that blog it's being done with nothing but bravery.  Sorry I missed so much.  Will get caught up with friends like I should have to begin with.

Thanks Guys,

I just wanted to give a quick update.

I am currently in Atanta at the spine center where my son Josh is going
through rehab.  I am getting my family training as there is much to deal with while he is in the wheel chair.  He currently has use of his right hand and right leg. The left leg and left hand is moving very little...but moving none the less. I never realized that there is so much to a spine injury and its quite the challenge for all involved even the family. He is able to use the bathroom on his own now and that is such a great thing.  We stay busy from about nine to three each day...then I dont get done with him till about nine or so each night. I then go back and crash at the hotel.  Josh is progressing slowly but still progressing!!!
You quickly become close with all patients on your floor as there is a bond that goes beyond race or class when you have a spine injury. There is a guy on our floor who works for a dealer and got rearended by a cage and will be in a wheelchair the rest of his life.

I have many thanks to send out...the CVO sight has really been there for my family as this thing is very expensive.  RJob and Altugo paypaled me a generous
donation this week and its timing was perfect as I was running on fumes.

When this is done I have vowed to set up a special account for families of tragic accidents for the site...you just cant imagine how much a little helps...
This site has become my new church community.  I am good at giving and having to learn at accepting.  May God Bless all of you for your kindness and generousity towards my family.

A quick note on Karen, my wife,

She was still very sore from getting hit in the rear of her car the week before...and currently is home on the couch resting from surgery.  We were very thankful that all she needed was her ovaries out...because a Dr. a few weeks back said she had a mass on her colon and was going to have part of it removed and it could be cancer. But thank God...they checked her colon and it turned out to be her ovary shifted down and was stuck to the colon. She is recouping and will be back down here next week to care for Josh so I can get back to work.

Thanks again to Roger and Altug,
You guys have literally bailed me out this week,
God Bless,

Barry Heine and Family

JOSH

Isn't It great to see first hand GOD answering prayers ? You've got family & friends that care & love you very much. Josh you also have a CVO family that feels the same way about you & your whole family. I thank God for all the improvement you're experiencing. Wasn't that great news about your Mom? Hopefully you'll will only receive good news for a long long time.
