I have an appt. on Nov. 1st for my 5k service.  This dealership is located in a more rural market and I am concerned that they may not be aware of all of the issues with these 110's.  I'm sure they sell a few, but nowhere near what some of the big Dallas stores may sell.  We take our bikes for service here due to the fact the folks are great and you can trust them to do what they tell you to do.   My friends and I have a great relationship with the service manager and he has been very helpful in the past.

My questions are as follows:

1) Is there a warranty/service bulletin I can print out relative to the oil leaks and crank runout checking procedure?  I 'm pretty sure I saw something here a week or so ago, but cannot seem to find it now.

2) What else should I have them check, based upon your experience with your CUSE2/3?

Thanks in advance.

John,

From what I've read on this site, I'd say the top 3 issues are oil leaks at the head and base gaskets, crankshaft runout, and automatic compression release failures due to the wires being overheated where they route through the rocker covers.  Also, you may want to consider having the IDS rear sprocket installed; you can get a break on labor with the "Elbow Grease" promotion from H-D.

Thanks Jerry.  I'll try to print out the appropriate portions for the service manager.

It's a sad state of affairs when you have to bring the dealership this kinf of information.   I guess its like healthcare today, you have to be your own doctor and do research because no one else is looking out for you.

At least we have this site.

Agree.  The folks at Red River are fantastic, I just don't know how up to speed they are on these issues, as they do not get alot of 110's to sell.
