Thanks for confirming that for me-Gettinold is getting old, if I recall correctly, he had a significant milestone last month.Lolo.
Anyhow I joined the leaker's today. Really thought I would sneak through but I didn't. Wes is in the Carolina's riding and won't be back until Tuesday. I don't know what to do with the thing. I did call MoCo and got a number. Talked with Kathy in CS and she gave me a number and asked that I take it to the dealership and have them call her. It would be great if they would authorize Wes to do the fix. I just don't trust either of the dealerships in the local area.
     Thanks

After tossing and turning on this leak problem I got up and took the bike over to Fletcher's HD in Clearwater. Fortunately for me, the SM was just walking out the service door. We discussed the 110 problems and then my problem. He verified the leaking oil on my bike. He also convinced me that he has a sound approach towards fixing my bike and I made an appointment for this Tuesday. We will see how it goes from there.

UPDATE - Picked up the bike yesterday.

I was told that the new rear head gasket part number now ends in a -A. This is the new improved one so now time will tell if this fixes the oil leak probelm.

Dealer replaced the Screaming Eagle logo's on the engine with a two new black ones. My old one was turning yellow.

Radio - This is still an ongoing problem. Sound just cuts off when the radio feels like it. Head unit still has power and when I turn it off and back on it may or may not give me sound again. This is my 3rd head unit replacement and this replacement took 5 weeks before the dealer got my refurbished unit in.

I will update again next week after I do some riding Saturday and Sunday to see how long before something else goes wrong hopefully nothing else for me....

-A reference solve not the problem.
At the end of August, my head gaskets were mounted.
Only 2000 miles with the -A and new leak !
I hope the best for you !

Keep going part by part until he finds the cause of the issue. He is not willing, and I agree with him, to just throw a bunch of parts at the problem and hope one of them fixes it. Hate to see them replow old ground. Time will tell.

I would think that after 3 replacement head units without fixing the issue, it's time for them to try the old fashioned diagnostic methods rather than the modern part changer methods.  Or at least try changing a different part for pete's sake.  Any idea what the odds are against 4 head units in a row having the same defect?

Well, I took hook, line and sinker on this systematic approach to root cause analysis. The dealer changed out the head gaskets, did a test run, and found the new gaskets leaking. He called the Mo Co and they told him to replace the rear cylinder. It was supposed to be in today and bike may be ready tomorrow. The MoCo is calling all the shots and their approach is to swap out hardware and buy time. Throw a bunch of chit at the wall and hope something sticks. Dissappointing.

Most of what the MoCo is doing is merely to pacify owners that something is being done. As of right now, there is no cure. Hopefully soon, but not yet.
