The bulb with its rubber boot is pretty tight so must be a tight twist lock into the housing/reflector. Thanks for that info! I was going by the description on the HD web site that says it's a sealed beam....but they say all of them are. ???

Figured since I have the fairing cap off for another maintenance action, I'd go ahead and clean up my headlight and passing lamps.  So, I pull the trim ring off, and I'll wager better than 100 bug carcasses fell out.  Oh Lord............now that's gonna be stuck in my head every time I ride.  One more thing to obsess over.  Passing lamp trim rings weren't too bad.  Washed the housings as I described earlier in this thread.  They look dry now, but I've got time, so I'll wait on the reassembly.  There's a few water spots on the lenses and reflectors, so I may try the alcohol/compressed air trick described elsewhere in this thread and see if that gets the few water spots out.  Never had to worry with water spots on the 02 Ultra headlight, since it had a translucent lens.  I also cleaned up the trim rings to remove the bug remnants.  A few months ago, I picked up a new windshield tape, so I'll replace that as well.  I'm about fed up with the rubber strips on the bottom of the fairing.  I've replaced them twice, and now the left side piece is gone again.........plus they hold water after a wash which runs all over the chrome skirt, front fender and left fork.  I've seen others running without them, so off they come.  It's that time of year.........time to get down and dirty to get ALL the nooks and crannies clean.  D00d, I know you're reading this, and if it hasn't already been brought to your attention, I know my findings will drive you nuts, since your scooter is likely the same way..............but then again, this is something you probably do during every wash.   :P :P :P :huepfenjump3: :huepfenlol2:
