Harley vs Goldwing forum

This is hilarious!  There are a lot of non Harley members at COVHarley that contribute a great deal and are welcomed with open arms and treated with respect (MagicRat).  Not so on this board.  I love the comments about Wing riders dressing for a Sadie Hawkins dance and going to Dairy Queen on their Tupperware Glides......   Very entertaining stuff.... :cherry:

In another post here at CVO Harley I mentioned belonging to a couple of other forums that were not moderated and how much bashing there was and how things get way out of hand.......... this was one of the forums I was referring to. I had a GW (and stock Ultra) at the time and one of my first posts was a question about references of a internet parts and accessories dealer that I had a snag with. I didn't bash them, or speak negatively. Just wanted some feedback of what I could expect with my situation.  BLAM-O!!! :rifle: :rifle: :rifle: :rifle: :rifle: :rifle: :behead: :behead: :behead: I got my a$$ kicked around as a newbie by this one guy in particular!  :P :P

Gee whiz, I went to that site and looked at a few topics. It didn't take long to get tired of a few of those snivleing crybabies. Did I just say that out loud?

I really enjoy this site and the way everyone treats everyone else. Thanks Neil!   :2vrolijk_21:

Well, any thoughts I ever had of owning a Goldwing have just been erased. ;D  I love this place and it is a big part of the reason why I own not one, but two, CVOs.  Those guys over there would probably think I'm nuts, and mabe I am, but I'm glad I ride what I ride and hang with the people I hang with . . . . the members of CVOHarley.com! :2vrolijk_21:

Ok, I went to the site and read a little.....Can we say "Harley Envy"?

Saw several topics bashing HD.  What's that all about?  I would think they would want to talk about their bikes, accessories, and rides (you know, like we do).

I seldom hear HD riders spending much time talkin bad about Gold Wings (or anyother bike for that matter).  If they want to ride their "Wings" or anyother bike, power to them.

All I know is, this forum has a great bunch of nice folks that love their HD's (for the most part) and have better things to do than bash other folks choice of bikes.

Wife and I used to belong to the Goldwing group in Portland.  Very negative towards everything about Harley.  When I sold the wing for a Harley years ago you would have thought I became the enemy.  Even though the wife still rides her Valkyrie we left the GW group.  Don't understand their negativity towards HD riders.  That site after viewing it is a pretty good example of GW riders attitudes towards Harley.  Not all are like that but it seems the majority are anymore.  I rack it up to jealousy, mis-information and downright stupidity on their part.  Its been really nice belonging to HOG as compared to the GW group GWRRA in Portland.

The Wing and the BMW riders have often seemed to be pretty closed groups.  By no means all, but at least many of us really could seem to care less what someone else rides; so long as they ride something.

Think that was one of the things I liked about Traxxion Dynamics when having the front end work done to the red bike.  A LOT of their work is Wing work.  Other stuff too.  But, at least before us, not a huge amount of Harley trade.

The guys there could have cared less though.  Max was an equal opportunity place to spend your money.  Good guys who really only seemed to care about making the bikes better no matter what kind of bikes they are.

I don't think you can compare this site to any other site...it's just not fair! It would be like a little league team vs the World champs Red Sox! :nixweiss: Just wouldn't be fair! There is something really special with this site unlike other sites. We are family! The leadership does a fine job keeping this site from becoming like one of these other ones. But for the most part it's the People that make this CVO family! We care!!! We share a common bond and also share everything else. We share our Love, our talents, our sorrows, our knowledge, our humor, our Love, our experiences, our failures, our trips, our relationships, our bikes, our homes, our sweat, our money, did I mention our Love??? We share our tears, our joys, our families, our opinions, and mistakes. But we do all this in Love and Respect. We can agree to disagree and we can tolerate. Just like any family, we are all created uniquely different in appearance and personality but were still family and we still Love each other. I am proud to be a member of this family which goes beyond CVO motorcycles. Gods Sweet Love and Blessings to you all!

                                                             JR :bananarock:

P.S. May I add, it's not the bike that makes the person!!! In HS we ate and rode with some fine people that were on GW and BMW. Enjoyed them thoroughly!!! Great bunch of men! As I said, it's not the bike that makes a person! :2vrolijk_21:

Howie, in a few hours look down between your legs and see what you're riding.  It'll be the same thing you rode in Hot Springs.  A dresser man, a big beautiful dresser.  You're just in denial.  It's like getting away from the warranty.  You know you want to; it's just soooooo hard to do :huepfenlol2: .
