Sounds like an excellent prosecution of the project.  Breaking it down as sub projects with time in between makes it a lot easier.  Couple of times have had to basically just take a breath and put a project together from scratch over a Saturday and Sunday.  That crossed the line from fun to stressful and annoying in a hurry.  Hobbies and fun aren't supposed to be that much of a chore.

So who bellies up to the motor; you or Ken?  Got the motor and tranny separated yet?

Whoever it is, be sure and have the camera ready, first. ;D

When it stops being fun I take a break. I don't think I want to put Ken in that position. I yanked it out, so I'll be putting it back in. I separated the motor and tranny in the bike to make it easier to remove. Coming out is a lower precision operation than going in, therefore making the two extra hands that much nicer for putting it back together.  :2vrolijk_21:

I understand Sumax protects the frames real well for shipping. I'm planning on leaving as much of that in place while the motor and tranny are going back in. Hopefully it will protect both items.  :2vrolijk_21:

I will admit that I made out like a bandit, but I wouldn't recommend that approach to bike improvements to anyone. Way to many ways for it to go terribly bad.  :(

I consider myself very lucky in many ways.  :)

I dunno Neal. Maybe leaving a bunch of the stuff will stabilize the tranny and keep the frame from getting dirty, saving me detailing time.  :D

I know you took that in the context I meant it in.  In all seriousness, there is no such thing as a good accident.  But it is a sweet paint job.

I know where you were coming from. It's all good.  ;D

I do have to admit to jokingly telling some riding buddies they should try it out. "It worked out for me..."  ; :D

I know with my luck, if I had an accident, the only thing that would get new parts would be me. :o :lipsrsealed2:

This angle really shows the '05 resemblance.  :) :)

:indian_chief:

Goes without saying, but pretty spectacular results.  It is hard to imagine having the talent your painter possesses.

Now the fun part - putting it all back together.  Slow and easy; when it gets frustrating - stop.  The satisfaction when you are done will be tremendous!  Wish I was close enough to help.  This type project is the ultimate in relaxation for me...  I completely enjoy projects such as yours.

Congratulations on your tins....good luck with the assembly... :2vrolijk_21:

Absolutley Hot!  Great vision and the good luck in putting it all back together.  To me it captures one of the things I appreciate about HD's-  When you customize they become so unique and you certainly will never run into its twin.  Cheers!!

Thanks Brian. I'm planning on getting the fairing and bags today, maybe fenders too. When I was there yesterday, they were sanding the fairing and still had yet to do the bags. They wanted me to get the finished parts because storage space for small parts is limited in their shop.

Me too. I went back on Friday to get the other parts. The boss was out that day, so other projects got moved in front of mine. I'm expecting a call soon, maybe today.  :bananarock:
