Well, I'm giving them some time because we had a bit of a problem on the inner fairing. The fellow that was doing the final buff was trying to make sure he got it just perfect since he knew that piece was to be right in front of me all the time. He was using a small foam buffer on the raised 'eyebrow' over the speedo and he got a bit too close and the stiff backing disc burned through the clear and into the candy. Now they've got to sand it all down and start over, with the gold base and do it all over again. Some shops would probably try to fix that problem area and pass it off. These guys have been really great about doing it right and making me happy with the final result. It really is more than just another 'job' they're running through the shop.

So, I'm not over there breathing down their necks and beating them up for making me wait. It's not like I can do anything with the parts anyway. They'll be done with that and the other little stuff like undercoating the fenders that still needed to be done real soon.  :2vrolijk_21:

Maybe today, maybe not.  :)

That's a good approach on your part Chuck, there's not need in rushing them since you can't use the parts at the moment anyway.

How's the frame coming?

Hey Talon, what's happening? Sumax has the frame and all the extra parts. I even bowed to the OCD gods on this fine site and shipped off the saddlebag rails, EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN'T SEE THEM. I am ill. :(

ETA for them finishing it up is the week of 2/11 - 2/15. I've been told they're running a three to four week backlog of work and everyone wants their stuff before Daytona. What's up with that? :nixweiss:

I'm thinking it will be here the week of 2/18 - 2/22. Then the fun really begins. :bananarock:

When it's all actually inbound and you've scheduled the reassembly party let me know.  Will add that to the calendar :bananarock: !

The possibility of a reassembly party is looking pretty slim at this point. My only open weekend in February is the weekend of the ninth and there just isn't any way it will be in by then, so it looks like I'll be putting it back together in the evenings after work.  :)

That should boost productivity and efficiency right into the single digits.  :huepfenlol2:

I'd stream video, but I don't think the DSL could handle the bandwidth. Maybe I could proxy it through the site.  :nixweiss:

Sorry man, not yet. It's probably ready if I were to go pick it up. Are you suggesting that I should go over today and check?  :nixweiss:
