Update on my problems with the oil in my forks that I had asked to have swapped out for the Screamn Eagle oil.

Thanks Leroy, you tried to tell me how to do it myself, but I just am not adept at anything with them thar tools.  I can mess up a simple light bulb exchange.  It cost a lot of money, in my opinion, just to change oil.  But happy?  You betcha. I am real sorry that because the shop was so inept, I have no opinion about the Screamn Eagle oil VS. the regular. I will never get to find out.  Those of you that changed it made so much sense to me why, which of course is why I asked for it.   But now in the front end of my bike, it handles wonderfully.  It steers so much better it is amazing.  Between the oil and the neck bearings being tightened.  My husband was commenting on it last night too. We have a very sharp back on yourself corner just before our house, and he said that it took that corner with ease.  Like the bike owned the road or something.

Does anyone know the weights of the different H-D fork oils?

I see in the catalog there are four different types ( B, E, SE extra heavy and SE heavy)

I am installing progressive springs in the front and plan to use 15 weight fork oil.

The parts guy doesn't even know!

Fork oil on the SEEG. There is a supplement manual for the Screamin Eagle Electra Glide and I think the Fork set up is the same as the Road King Bike But check it out for your self through the dealer, make them look in the supplement manual, there is something different on our Seeg.
Probably didn't help you !

It seems that Harley doesn't want us to know the viscosities of any of their lubricants - makes it harder to buy someone elses products.  I've tried to get this info for several years, and no official Harley source will provide the information.

Our bikes call for the Type E fork oil.  In the past, I have used 20 wt PJ-1 in bikes that also called for the Type E oil, and found the damping to be comparable.  If you are looking to increase the damping in your forks, 15 wt will probably be too light.
