Thought I would take the SE FatBoy out for a spin after all of the repairs and new ingredients installed recently. It is about a 120+ mile jaunt for me, starts at 5:30am from my door to the first location of festivities at Glendale Harley Davidson.
They expected over 20,000 participants on bikes today and I tell you, I have never seen so many fine looking bikes in one day. After some morning gatherings, displays and music (plenty of coffee before 7:00am) the line up starts to parade down through Glendale Ca. downtown area through the foothills and into Pomona, CA. This is the first rally at the new location, formerly Castaic Lake, CA held the event.
I rode in the third wave with over 2,500 (approx.) and I have never had such a good time riding with strangers. All for a good cause, the children of Los Angeles the beneficiaries for this event. God Bless the Children.
So, hours of rubbernecking and fingerpointing at each others chit, I am proud to say my humble ride received many compliments and notes of appreciation for the labor and costs obviously put into this FatBoy.
I am sure anyone of the other rides which carry the CVO label would have been received well too. But I got my 15 minutes of fame when I walked back to the motorcycle parking lot with many of the Love Ride bikers and had a small crowd around my bike. Yeah, my bike. I often feel humbled by the
$50,000 to $75,000 show quality bikes that no one ever rides but still make it to the trade shows. They were here in full force, but I got a few moments of the pride of ownership of a fine Harley.
I got to tell you all, I love that SE FatBoy of mine; it is truly a wonderful ride, and I am lucky to have it.
Just wanted to brag a little. Oh, and they estimate we raised over a $1,000,000.00 today. I'm starting to feel the Love.
