It's a little lean at cruising speeds then...a LOT of the V's had that problem, set up from the factory that way.  That was before the O2 sensors.  That's where the EPA tests if I'm not mistaken.  PCIII or SERT will take care of it.

Terry, where does a Power Commander get shoe horned in to a V-Rod?

Terry, where does a Power Commander get shoe horned in to a V-Rod?

On the pre 07 models, it is generally sandwiched between the battery and the front of the air box.  I did not care for that location, as you can't hook up to it without pulling it out and laying it somewhere to get the cable on, so when I cut up my air box to get more air, I Dremeled a groove for the connection harness and velcroed it to the inside front of the bottom of the air box.  Then it takes about 2 minutes to get to, hook up, or see if it's working should a problem arise.  It's safer there, IMO, and when you modify the air box, you only do the top portion.  The other option is just to remove the top completely...that is referred to in V rod circles as going "Topless"...mine has a string bikini top on it.  ;)  If you go topless, there is a bit of intake noise from the velocity stacks.

Have looked at the underside of those boxes so think I remember what you're describing.  Sounds like a much better alternative for not a lot of extra effort.  Wonder if Ken has a Dremel; or just a big F'ing hammer to work it over with?

I have a machine shop with a radial arm drill, 1-1/2" -3" drill bits (Go big or go home), a punch press and a magnetic drill. Who needs one of those pussy dremel tools?

I often delete most of what I write prior to posting...my mind is always in the gutter, so I have to watch myself, as we have wimmin viewers.

Nothing wrong with a little double-entendre though... ;)

A little editorial self control is a pretty common thing here too.  There's a difference between the gutter and the GUTTER. :drink:

You guys are sick! you know that?

I stopped at a farm today to pay a visit to a guy I've contracted to do some work with. He's got to be 65 y/o. I knew he rode, so asked--Riding much? He was like--HELL YEA..i've got three bikes! He's got a UC, A screamin Eagle v-rod and a sportster.

He starts telling me about drag racing the V-rod. 140 MPH???? LOL Aight'den. I gave him a CVO card, so I hope he drops in and checks it out.

That's what happens when you don't have any place to carry beer. I bet you could have gotten out of that on the big 'un.  :D

Tickets suck...Those Kintucky cops will get you...ask me how I know.  My free room and board at your house last spring was quickly disolved by a friendly state trooper who said it took him 2 miles to catch up to me... :o :o  I was listening to tunes in the headset, and the drone of the Rineharts, and didn't even hear the guy 'till he pulled up beside me a hit the sireen again.   :nervous: :nervous: He was at least nice and dropped the true speed so it wouldn't be reckless driving.
