Tickets suck...Those Kintucky cops will get you...ask me how I know.  My free room and board at your house last spring was quickly disolved by a friendly state trooper who said it took him 2 miles to catch up to me... :o :o  I was listening to tunes in the headset, and the drone of the Rineharts, and didn't even hear the guy 'till he pulled up beside me a hit the sireen again.   :nervous: :nervous: He was at least nice and dropped the true speed so it wouldn't be reckless driving.

how do you know???  ;D

My friendly cop was from Tennessee. Tennessee cops don't give Kaintucky boys a chance. Four lane highway...Wide open wide roads...and a 45 MPH speed limit? It's crazy.

Well, now it makes sense. If it was a fellow Kentuckian, and you were in the truck, I'm sure you could have taken him out for a beernic and he would have been just fine.

One thing I've learned...Don't ask the cop to hold your beer while you search for your license and registration. Don't ask me how I know this.

Terry, where does a Power Commander get shoe horned in to a V-Rod?

On my 07 it fit right in the space under the seat.

reply from TCnBham yesterday to the same question..........

On the pre 07 models, it is generally sandwiched between the battery and the front of the air box.  I did not care for that location, as you can't hook up to it without pulling it out and laying it somewhere to get the cable on, so when I cut up my air box to get more air, I Dremeled a groove for the connection harness and velcroed it to the inside front of the bottom of the air box.  Then it takes about 2 minutes to get to, hook up, or see if it's working should a problem arise.  It's safer there, IMO, and when you modify the air box, you only do the top portion.  The other option is just to remove the top completely...that is referred to in V rod circles as going "Topless"...mine has a string bikini top on it.  Wink  If you go topless, there is a bit of intake noise from the velocity stacks.

Pete...they changed things around a bit in '07, and I have not had the opportunity to take a look see at the differences.  That looks like a good place for it though.  Must have been the rear fender re-design that enables you to use that space?

Just ordered Bitubo rear shocks from Traxion. These are the ones Terry used for 1,000 miles or so, and I got a little discount off them. the spring is black, and the canister anodized aluminum I think. I'd rather have the springs and canister black, but that's an extra $300 or so. They would have to be torn apart, black springs ordered and the canister powder coated. Na..I'll use them as they are for that much money. Hell, that's half my annual budget.

Ken...it will make a huge difference in your ride...Suzanne really enjoys the V since I got the shocks, and other than her pinching me for going too fast, I enjoy them as well.... ;)

Wayne, I've looked into that. I think I have about $10,000 invested in this gut. New shocks were $450. I'm just trying to protect my investment.
