Does anyone know of an EXPERT tuner for the SERT in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

Might check out Mike Sileo @ American Eagle HD in Corinth (south of Denton) if he's still there.  Seemed to know what he was doing in tuning mine.

Thanks Bear,

I was aware that the Corinth store did it, but I was not aware of their qualifications. I will give Mike a call.

Wenchel,

I had my 05 SEEG done by Mike.  I thought he did a good job.  Still has the same tune.

There is also a Jim at Longhorn who I have heard does a decent tune.  No true first hand knowledge, just a name you may ask around to see if anyone has used him.

Jim at longhorn harley in grand prairie sert  and dyno tuned my 08 ultra se yesterday.  I had read all these sert-dyno threads for a month, so i had a lot of questions for him.  He had all the good answers. we agreed on the thinking of not reaching for the higest HP number, but a efficient, smooth,
high torque tune.  I am very pleased. runs great, (and fast), smooth take off and pulls from 1800 rpm easily.  He was tuning a bike for waco harley when i picked up mine and said that they were using him for all there dyno tuning.

Yeah, I have heard a lot of good thing about the guy at Grand Prairie. One of my friends has bought 3 SE's from then and had them all tuned there. He has been very pleased. Like you I want good throttle repsonse, decent fuel economy, and a good strong/flat torgue curve.

I've also read, and heard, a lot of recommedations of Longhorn for SERT tuning.  I plan to make the 275 mile ride to get it done there, but haven't talked to them about scheduling it, or found out how much time and cost will be involved. Does anyone have first hand knowledge on that?

Ridesmiles,
the sert is 459.95.  dyno is about 350.00.  if you buy 500.00 worth af parts installed by Longhorn, you get 100.00 labor discount.  Jim started on mine about 9:00 am, and i picked it up at 3:00 pm. If you call him, he can give you exact details and an appointment day.   jackyass  --jackie 8179256138

My Ultra is getting close to its 1,000 mile service.  I may have him do a tune for strong torque and decent gas mileage after my service is done.  Thanks for all of the information.

Already have the SERT, but I can always use more chrome.  I'll call Jim for an appointment, and then a motel room reservation.  Thanks for the info!!

I had my 08 Ultra tuned by Jim.  I did this in conjunction with my 1,000 mile service.  Bike runs substantially better with the tune.  As mine is only a 96", it does not produce numbers in the 110 league, but gets me there in plenty of time.

My front jug was running way too rich before. Jim showed me each of the plugs he replaced, and the front plug was way too dark.  He stated the guys may have remapped for a 103 vs. 96 when I picked up the bike in December.

I would recommend him as he took the time to answer all of my questions and took me back and showed me the dyno room and was very pleasant. And i caught him right before he was getting ready to leave for lunch ;D
