My zip code did not make the list, but my property taxes were 6200 on a 500,000 house. More than some on list.

You should feel fortunate...around here $6200 will about cover taxes on a $250,000 house.  Property tax is real ugly, but state income tax is only 2.5%...

Say what you want about NYC, but the property taxes vs property value (except Manhattan) are probably about the lowest in the country. I pay about $4500/yr. for a $850K-$1Mil home. Go to any suburb around here and pay double to triple that for the same property value. They gotta do something to keep us living within the city limits! ;)

Yeah Glenn.........but I didn't quantify my taxes with a home value.  You know us Alabama folks...........we prefer Clayton Homes.  Besides, my home has wheels with bright, shiney, CHROME hubcaps.   :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

The real value of my home is the new privy.   :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

I am not sure what our taxes are.  Jamey pays all our bills on line on our upgraded Adam computer so I just don't know.  But I know the cost of our house isn't anywhere near what y'all are paying for homes.  We could own the whole county for the prices y'all are paying for houses.  Leaves more money available for chrome on the bikes.

Mine are about 700 a year, but here in Alabama, you pay a lot of sin taxes on spirits and other vices.  Plus an average of 8% sales tax on EVERYTHING, including food/medicine.

I can tell you right now, my house isn't worth anywhere near what some of you guys are reporting.

I just stay at the local Forest preserve pavilion, I'ts got your typical great room floor plan with a wood burning fireplace, the outhouse is only 30 yrds away, the hand pump well is near by, the windows can be a bit drafty, but I got two grills out back and a smoker. 0.0 property taxes, the Beer is always cold (especially in the winter) and all the wood is free. what more do ya need  :bananarock:
