I did a quick search for this but found nothing, maybe it was how I searched, but oh well here it goes.
On stock SERK's without TourPak when you open the lid on the bag it will over rotate and dig into the upper shock attachment nut, like this.

This is what it looks like with only riding it about six times. I can't imagine what it will be like after you open and close the lid a few hundred times.
Here's what both of my lid edges now look like.

With the TourPak on the lid will hit the side of the TP and the lid edge will not hit the shock nut. But what about all you guys without the TP's, what does your bag lid look like?
Thanks.
Okay guys, thanks for the help.
I went to my dealer over the weekend and the bike that was originally going to be mine, but was delayed, was now in on the showroom floor. 2008 SERK Annie #466.
I checked the bag lids on this one and one side hit the nut and the other side hit the passenger's backrest support. The backrest seemed to be not centered very well.
I agree that when I have my TP on it won't be a problem, but I plan to ride some without either the TP or the passenger's backrest. I'm going to see what type of a lid stop I can come up with that will probably just double stick tape the back side of the bag back panel just below the lid. If positioned correctly I think the inside of the lid will bottom out on the stop and restrict the lid from going all the way back.
Thanks again and when I get the time to make the stop I'll let you all know how it works. If it works I'll post a few pictures.
Later dudes and dudettes...
