This is at my local HD store!! :o  Let me know if anyone wants me to go check it out.  The GM is a great guy, who I talk to at length on each visit.  I gotta ask why someone would pay the extra $$ for this paint, to only want to replace it :'(  Oh well, to each his own.

I'm south of DFW but frequent AE quite often, think they have the best service/specials/events in the metroplex.  I'm like you, why would you get that bike then strip it down?  Brings tears to my eyes...Especially since the 105's seem to be so hard to get.

Boy this makes no sense at all.  I would think that what ever you put CVO 105th paint set on would make that bike worth less than the stock paint that came on it.  SR# I would think needs to match....

BAD decision IMO.

Personally, I think this falls in the "dumb move" category.   :2vrolijk_21:

I think he's trying to recoup the "custom" paint job he's wanting with the $8000 buy it now price.

Also, if/when the original buyer goes to sell the bike (some day) the new owner wont be able to take it back to original because the serialization is gone.

The owner of the bike could always go back to original paint, because the SN of the bike is used not the #43/1800.  The specialization of the paint will bite the guy that buys this set, as he won't ever be able to buy HD painted replacements, since his SN won't match UNLESS he already has an 08 that needs tins, for whatever reason.

there's alot more to the SEUC bikes than just paint.......... paint aside, your still ahead of the game in pricing vs. add on's.

That may be true, but other then the VIN it is most noticeable, and recognizable as a CVO. :nixweiss: All the other "add ons" can be purchased for any bike.

Just press the "Buy It Now" button and she's all yours, not that there's anything wrong with that.

As a complete custom paint set, $8,000 is probably not all that bad of a price, but part of the value of this set of tins is tied to the bike (and its VIN) that it came off of.  I think if you separate the two, and neither one is worth chit.  To me, after this bike gets its new set of tins, it ceases to be an anniversary SEUC.  Similarly, you can put the tins on another bike, but you haven't increased the value of the CVO or non-CVO bike at all. :nixweiss:
