Girl who lost leg on Harley---- I'm doing OK
« on: December 05, 2007, 12:08:52 AM »

Hi everyone.
I googled my self and found out that I was on this site. I am not sure who did it but Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I did loose my right leg to this awful accident and am learning to walk all over again. I have a new leg and for the last 6 weeks have been in therapy to learn to walk. It is not where i thought my life would be at but I know God has a plan for me and my plan is to get myself back on a bike. I had a wonderful 2002 Low Rider that took me every where. I had almost 50,000 miles on her and she faired far worse then me. She is gone. She saved my life because if I had been in a car I would not have made it.
the crazy thing is 2 weeks before this happened I went to the Dragon and rode it 3 times. I got to leave some of the chrome off the bike on it's throat!! Rubbed on both sides, went on and rode to Charleston SC, by myself and my family thought i would DIE then. I am 45 minuted from home coming to a stop sign and get hammered.
One correction to the story from June. When I was pinned and laying there for 45 minutes I didn't yell i thought I was going to die. God kept me calm and we just prayed (CMA members) and I got through it fine. I had to keep my family from freaking out.
I will be back riding somehow. Most think I will have to be on a trike but i have my eye on a Road King Classic-BLUE!!
Again thanks for your prayers and thoughts
PEACE

Wow,  SO Very Happy to hear your e-voice here.  Your faith and obvious strength and endurance of both mind and body will have your riding whatever the heck you want to.  If it is a road king you choose, I look forward to the day I meet you on it.  So glad you googled yourself and found your way to this great site of CVO brothers and sisters.  It is a good place to sit at sometimes.

Our Lord has a purpose for you. For the rest of your life, try to find out what it is and pursue it with blind faith. I am so glad you made it sister.

Glad you are doing better! I was hit from behind in July at a yield sign by an elderly woman who cause $17,000 worth of damage to my bike but superficial wounds to myself....not sure how I even survived as I never saw it coming.

Just got bike back recently and back riding. Hearing stories like yours and with your will to ride again makes me want to ride even more.
