New Motor Question
« on: December 05, 2007, 01:38:40 PM »

I know some of you have received new 110 motors for various reasons and mine is (hopefully) on the way right now.  I know when bikes are produced they are fired up and the motors tested.  Just wondering about replacements.  Do they fire them and test before shipment?  If not are they shipped 'dry' or is motor oil in them?  If never fired at all I may want to heat cycle the motor to begin the break-in process.  Thoughts and comments appreciated.   :2vrolijk_21:

Jerry,

I don't know the answer to your question, but I believe proper heat cycling will do nothing but good for your new motor. It doesn't take that many beers to get through it and can only be beneficial in the long run.

Yipee, went by my dealer this afternoon and my new motor is in!  Old motor has been removed from bike and new motor ready to install.  Just hope this one is better that the original.  Maybe I'll have it back before too much longer, and none too soon.

That's great news Jerry. Do let us know how you like the new plant when she's broken in.

That's great news Jerry, glad to hear you're on the way to being able to ride again.
