Gentlemen,

Is there a good QD solution for the crossover line? I've read the threads and can see Duane's in his recent pics. Is my only option making my own?

Any recommendations to avert frustration and save $$?

It is not perfect, not very flexible, but it beats popping the line off the tank.
I also use a piece of clear tubing, slit lengthwise over the QD, it rubs against the bike frame.

I recall having to drill out the tank end of the hose ferrule a bit, to fit over the HD tank flare.

Also, before you play with either the HD version of the stainless crossover or one of QD's like I have, I strongly suggest you go to the dealer and get several of the rubber o-rings (they are not "o's"). I bought 8 the last time I was there, they are cheap and you will need them if you take the hose off the tank.

It was a beutiful day while I drove around in my truck looking for o-rings ......

I did the option B "make your own" version with these same parts offered on Ebay.  It works quite well...

If the nipple OD will fit the SS Crossover now installed, I think I'll go this route. Do you have the nipple OD?

  I do not know the dimension, but the stock rubber crossover line i.d. fit the nipple o.d. on the quick disconnect fittings very well - so I took the stock rubber crossover line with me when I went to buy the steel braided line...if that helps...  I did not use the Harley SS crossover line - I bought steel braided line and "made my own"...

Duane-Don't understand about the orings??   I know the quick disconnect has oring(s)..   The original gas line just attaches to the tank barb with a clamp.   Please clarify.  Thanks, Bob

The ID of the crossover line on a Touring bike is supposed to be 5/16" and 1/4" on Dyna's..

Since Duane has gone, I'll jump in here. The HD SS Braded Crossover line uses a compression nut that slides over the tank nipple. Instead of a metal compression sleeve it uses a rubber ring, not really an o-ring, but more of a donut with square sides. This donut is pretty soft and when compressed, oozes out between the hole in the compression nut and the tank nipple, causing damage to the donut. It can be reused once or maybe twice, but each time the damage is a bit more apparent.

Thanks Chief about the compression nut using rubber instead of a brass sleeve.

If Iwere to make my own, i would buy this quick disconnect instead.

The "o"ring has a cross section that is almost square, not round
