V/H FuelPak for 08 SEUC
« on: December 12, 2007, 08:46:07 AM »

I see V/H finally updated settings to include the 2008 110 SE Touring.  I was considering this set up with their Dresser Duals / Ovals for 08 SEUC.  Anyone using the FuelPak or have any opinions on it’s performance vs. the HD SERT?

Personally, I have no experience with the Fuelpak, but in general, I don't think those types of devices provide the ability to properly tune a bike.

I agree, kinda like getting a HD flash to your ECU. As to the SERT, or other management systems, that would be a personal call, but if your just doing standard changes you can find a map that should cover your changes. Probably always best to get you bike on a dyno if your looking to get all the power you can. Each bike is a little different, and altitude and other factors can make a difference that you won't get worked out with a caned map. But I think a caned map will be better than a ECU flash, or FuelPack.

And I disagree.

I have 07 SERK with SE aircleaner and matching pipes combined with fuelpack.
I have been very happy, no overheating, no tinkering just good old long distance
driving on speeds in 90 - 100 mph level and single sitting distances very often
in IBA ranges.

Absolutelly totally hazzle free system. Dealer offered me FP for testing, and
promised full rebate if I decided to chane to PCIII or SERT. I did not, and I am one
carefree happy camper.

If you are not into nitty gritty fine tuning, but want nice boost in performance,
FP is the answer.

I bought the fuel pack with the V&H TD to lower the temperature of the engine.    I saw very little difference in temperature but I did lose some horsepower.   I often wish that I'd have left it as stock and just changed the mufflers!
The SERT seems popular in this forum as does the Zippers Autotune.

Good luck pal

I installed a Fuelpak, Dresser Duals and Big Sucker A/C 3 weeks ago on my 2008 SEUC and have a very positive outcome.  The engine cooled down considerable and my seat dyno tells me there was some improvement in performance.  As a bonus with the stock mufflers, the sound improved with a slightly louder and deeper rumble.  My wife who rides as a passenger even commented that she likes the sound better.  So far I'm very happy with the outcome.   :2vrolijk_21:

Do you think that could that be because of the big sucker?

I put Big Shot true two on my 07 110 with the fuel pac. noticed a difference for the better with power right away. Have kept a close watch on the V/H site for changes in their mapping. Also have discussed my bike with their teckies and have made some minor adjustments accordingly. That was one of the advantages I liked with the FP. I can make my own adjustments and all for the better. V/H even replaced the front heat shield when the mounting welds broke off. I ride hard and fast on So-Cal freeways and have over 18K on my machine.

Hi Smiler

What AC were you using. If your AC is stock or does not have the capacity to supply
sufficient air to AF mixture that is root of your problem... but why would someone
install or supply FP and proper exhaust without making sure that AC caters for the
increased demand. :confused5:

...then... just mayde...

I had put the Fuelpak on first with the dresser duals and rode for a few days.  With just these two items installed the only change in the bike was the cooler engine and the sound.  No noticable increase in performance.  Last week I added the big sucker A/C and this is when I noticed the increase in performance.

What big sucker kit are you guys using that have them? Is it the stage 1 or stage 2 kit? The stage 2 appears to have a bigger filter, I just want one that will fit using the stock 110 air filter cover.

# 18-512  Big Sucker Stage 1 air filter kit by Arlen Ness :  This is the chrome backing plate version.  It will fit all 2008 Touring models.  Arlen Ness part # 18-512.  It will fit under the original oval airbox cover.
