Last Couple Of Days To Use Discount Certificates
« on: December 29, 2007, 12:00:34 PM »

Am I a sucker or what? I have a discount certificate that expires on Monday for a 10% off on any in stock items at my local dealer and I am running up there to use it. Well, that is exactly why they send them out, so dumb-ass's like me will go buy something they don't need or want just to get 10% off. What is really stupid I can just order from Chicago and get 20% off and not pay the local 9.75% sales tax.
Sure am glad wifey doesn't know how to get to this site! ;D

Had something similar to local dealer here that I let expire. Not sure if I'm sad that it expired w/o me getting the chance to use it or proud that I didn't fall prey to their marketing scheme. :nixweiss:

The day after I test drove the Shelby Mustang. Since I was so unimpressed with the Shelby I decided to buy another Vette. While looking for a deal I ran across a 05 SRT10 with less than 10K and had never been titled, plus came with a new Dodge warranty. Grabbed it and I'm glad I did (except for the fuel millage). It is a ball to drive and will beat any car I've ever owned from 10 MPH up. Just can't seem to pass a gas station it doesn't like. Can't wait to see what kind of millage I get pulling the trailer. :(

Spyder, I'm assuming from the hitch that Mark's is a quad cab automatic.  I'm not for sure what they can muster with the extra weight and driveline drag, but my regular cab 6-speed really doesn't do any worse than my 4x4 HEMI.  It gets 15-16 running 75 on the highway in 6th gear and in mixed driving usually anywhere between 10.5-12.  You do have to run premium in it, though. :o

Picked it up in Atlanta and drove to Memphis (400 miles) holding it between 65 and 70 the whole way, got 12 MPG. Driving it around town I was getting 8-9 MPG until I changed to Magnaflow Catbacks and a K & N, that seems to have gotten it all the way up to 9.2 MPG. :(

Yep, it is a quad cab automatic. I have to admit I have been rather heavy footed on it. Heading back to Memphis I kept it between 65 and 70 BUT I did keep punching it every once and awhile, just to amaze myself. Brian you are right about car guys not understanding why in the world I pick it over a Shelby or Vette but one ride and I scare the hell out of them and they understand. I really love to look over and see a passenger trembling and praying.
